Why go anywhere else?

I can't imagine doing my taxes any other way than with Turbo-Tax. I'm confident that everything is always correct, even with tax changes every year. Turbo Tax puts my mind at ease.
What's great about it: With all the checks and double checks, I'm always confident that I'm getting a full refund, and everything is above-boar
What's not so great: It takes me longer than going to a tax preparer, but I always feel better

I cannot tell status of return or if filled. Robo Person says no,

Worst Year ever

I've been using TurboTax since it stated and this is the first year I had major problems. I was unable to download the required updates to finish my return. Nowhere on the web site was there a place to get help with my problem. I had to reinstall the software.
What's not so great: Unable to get required updates

Turbo Tax needs a lot of improvement in the review errors category. It presents errors with no way to know how to correct them. Then, when one eventually finds the forms, the explanations are written in Taxese (government speak). What is needed is a direct link button for each error presented and and plain language explanations. For example, I was supposed to supply Basis for a home sale. What the xxx is basis in regard to a home sale? I understand basis in regard to a stock purchase, but this is a new one.

Questioning why I should keep paying for the software if others are utilizing the free version and expressing content. What do I benefit from utilizing the paid version?
What's great about it: The ease of completing my filing due to the specific guide instructions.
What's not so great: Free software offered when I purchased my software.

When entering info for HSA, Turbo Tax states to simply "enter information from Box 12."
I have 3 different lines for Box 12 on my W 2 - Box 12a, Box 12b, Box 12c.
Yes I can read the W 2 instructions about the individual classes, C, D, DD - what each one means.
But, Turbo Tax does not tell which one of the 3 different entries/options of Box12 to enter.
Asking Turbo Tax for help, it repeatedly stated what the classes mean, info that we already knew because this info is already on the W 2 itself.
I saw that many had this same problem.
We could never be told which one of the different choices for figures/amounts to enter - is it Box 12C, Box D, Box DD?
I chose Box DD out of the three Box 12 options. I hope this was the right one for an educated guess.
What's great about it: streamlined
What's not so great: Breakdown of Box 12 cannot be clarified

I have used this product for years to do my taxes and I would recommend this tax product to anyone looking for a way to prepare their own taxes.
What's great about it: Ease of Use
