Disliked IA state form

Almost all the forms I used for the IA State taxes seriously lacked any explanation of what was needed. For all the years I have used Turbo Tax, this was the worse one I have seen for doing the state portion. I had to "guess" at what should be entered in the fields on several pages and my answers swayed my taxes due/refund considerably.
I am very disappointed in the 2013 IA State Tax by TurboTax.
What's not so great: Serious lack of explanation when going thru forms

Poor for part year residents

I have been using TurboTax for over ten years , and have always been happy with it. This year, for the first time, I have no confidence that my taxes were correctly calculated. I started the year as a resident of Massachusetts, and completed the year as a resident of New Hampshire. TurboTax asked me for my residency dates in each state, but still it required me to allocate my income manually. There is no justifiable reason for this inconvenience. Clearly the software developers have handled the basics for the majority of users, while completely ignoring any semblance of convenience for those of us to have a slightly unusual return. Further, the state questions asked of me were impossible to understand. I am done with TurboTax. I believe I'll go back to manual form entry.... it surely would have been easier.
What's great about it: consistent
What's not so great: very ambiguous questions

Great product but sometimes it just feels like it takes longer than needed. Overall I've never been disappointed.
What's great about it: Fast
What's not so great: Time consuming sometimes

Easy way to do taxes!

TurboTax is so easy to use. It directed me through every step which I love so I know I didn't miss anything. The only con I have is I have to report union dues and I had to ask where to put them even though I reported them last year in my return which I did through TurboTax. The program should see that I reported them and automatically ask if I need to report them again.
What's great about it: Directs you through every step of the return. It makes it so easy to do your returns.
What's not so great: I had to ask where to add union dues. It didn't automatically show me where to put them.

FAST AND ACCURATE

I WOULD RATE THIS A 9 OUT OF 10, THE ONLY REAL PROBLEM IS THE SPEED OF DOWNLOADING THE PROGRAM ON DIAL UP SERVICE.

What's not so great: TOO SLOW TO DOWNLOAD WITH DIAL UP SERVICE

Missing Gift Tax Form

I have used TurboTax for at least 15 years and never had any issue. Overall excellent product and support. But this year I had to declare an excess gift, requiring IRS Form 709. This is not part of TurboTax, and is very complicated, so I could have truly benefited if TurboTax did include this form. I resolved it directly with the IRS, after a lot of work and false starts. Then I had to file on paper, wasting my TurboTax "free" e-file. TurboTax should include all IRS forms and support them!
What's great about it: Basic Return is Perfect
What's not so great: Missing Gift Tax Form

pleased with how simple it was

was afraid of the whole process but much simpler than i thought it would be...can't believe I paid so much money to have it done in the past.
What's great about it: expected to just "get started" and come back to it later but i just kept going and now I'm all done.
What's not so great: reading through the terms and conditions set me back on my heels a bit , but..
