Early filing hurdles

I've been using TT for over a decade and have been very happy with the overall product during that time.
The walk-through has been terrific. I use it every time for my own sense of security.
However, the past 3 years I've had to file by mail. Somehow my SSN has been confused. The efile version does not go through. Or, as this year, the program wanted an update that was not available for download.
The nice part of this is that we are retired now and do not have sufficient income complexity to require bulks of paper to send.

Great Return Process

This process worked great for my wife and I again this year. Making entries, following instructions, all laid out in a very handy way. Look forward to another year next time.

this is my first time using this software and i was a little wary of it to be honest,
but it proved to guide a newbbee with reasonable ease without being too quick that it doesn't get you all you deserve back .!
covered just about all i could imagine with the tax law in continual flux without paying for a professional for that 'supposed' certainty
all in all im glad i went this route this year
ill be a lot surer of myself next year

What's great about it: short bursts-easily understood-step by step
What's not so great: so easy leaves a doubt if all angles covered

World's Best Tax Software !

I particularly like the fact that you can work on your Federal and State returns.....save your work.....take a break....and then come right back to where you left off in preparing your return. I think the audit-risk analysis is of real value. Filing both Federal and State returns electronically was very straightforward.
What's great about it: Extremely User-Friendly....Excellent Step-by-Step Guidance
What's not so great: Instructions for asking a question on-line might be a bit clearer.

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years. When I bought a new computer, I was delighted that loading last year's return from a CD-R was easy, and 2013 Turbo Tax found all the returns from that. E-filing is a joy, without having to mail all the forms/W-2s/1099's etc in .
What's great about it: Fast, accurate, easy to understand and navigate.
What's not so great: Should have said at start that any updates would be applied before completion. I thought that some sales tax data was no

Always my choice

I have used TurboTax for the last 5 years and would never file any other way! The program is comprehensive to make sure that your return is accurate -- TurboTax walks you through step by step and question by question to make sure you don't miss anything! I feel reassured that I am getting credit for every deduction, but also that my income information is complete. E-filing options are perfect and my refunds come quickly. I have recommended this program to all my family, and everyone has had a positive experience. Even my elderly parents have switched and are glad they did!
