Easy tax filing

This is the fourth year using Turbo Tax. I like that it keeps a record of past tax returns so you can compare year to year. E-file is a great way to go and the price for state tax e-file is reasonable. All in all a satisfying experience to a dreaded chore. Nobody likes to do tax returns and at least this product helps ease the pain a bit.
What's great about it: Walks through each topic in easy to understand steps
What's not so great: Doesn't explain topics in detail

Easy to use

I have been using Turbo Tax since 2005. I have used it to file end of year tax returns and amended returns. It has always been very straight forward.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax is very user friendly for a tax novice.
What's not so great: Had trouble e-filing, but figured it out with Turbo Tax help

Turbo Tax asked all of the right questions in all of the right catagories, some of which I didn't expect. The ease of completing and filing my return was worth the expense. Thanks!

My taxes are so easy now it only takes half a day

The best feature is the import from the previous year. The next best feature is the import of W-2 forms. I wish all employers offered that.
As my children became adults, I had them use Turbo Tax right from the start to file. They needed me to teach them about taxes, terminology, etc., but it was nice that Turbo Tax handled all the math and copying figures from one form to another. That frustration and source of error was not part of the process of learning how to file, and they enjoyed the experience.
One drawback that annoys me each year is the fact that there is no free option for filing my PA state taxes. Pennsylvania offers free online filing, but I would have to type everything all over again. I should be able to export my Turbo Tax PA file straight to my state's web site.
What's great about it: I know Turbo Tax covers everything
What's not so great: State e-file costs too much. I print and mail it instead.

2013 tax return

I would have given TourboTax 5 stars but I found it hard to print out forms for my personal records ( I filed electronically ). Also, I find that you keep changing the way TurboTax flows. It was easier in previous versions to go back and forth between federal and state forms. All and all, I did not find this years turbotax as user friendly as previous versions. It still is better than your competition, but I would like to see you be consistent from year to year as to how TurboTax operates.
What's great about it: Saved time by bring last years return forward
What's not so great: Hard to print out returns for my personal records
