Why didn't I get Turbo Tax years ago??!!

Great product. Easy to follow; loads of info and directions for where to get further info to complete forms accurately. This was way easier than I thought.

Using TurboTax is easy - especially when you have the info carry over from previous years. Cuts filing time by half.

Only way to go

I have been using TurboTax for several years. The clarity and depth of the process makes doing taxes easy. It encourages
keeping accurate records during the year that can be inserted into the process.

2013 Returns

The biggest slow-downs come from many of the questions that are asked as the program stepped me through my return.
I would have been better served if during the process when a drop down list of items to be coveded was shown, I could have chosen which items would be coverd instead of stepping through each and every one of them.
What's great about it: Covered what I needed.
What's not so great: Could be quicker.

TurboTax 2013

I like TT and will continue to use it, but do wonder why simple things, like printing my tax history details, cannot be done. Skip the whiz-bang graphics if you must, but keep the useful tools that we can use.
What's great about it: Easy to use, less "legaleze".
What's not so great: Cannot print out tax history, which is a vital component.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Importing investment information

Being able to import investment 1099 information from financial institutions was the best part of the whole experience. That made filing a return with Turbo Tax very easy and less stressful.

Switch on deductions

At some point during my review, the program checked the Standard deductions box without asking me, and then I owed $6K instead of $800. I had to go to the forms to find the correct box to uncheck stand deduction and recheck itemize. This option should be easier to find especially when the program KNOWS I will save more if I go with itemize.
What's great about it: easy to enter and use ItsDeductable
