The software is not sophisticated. I know the forms I want to file. The software does not allow me to override that informatino.

Fracking Good!!

My major in philosophy with coursework in logic has helped me use TurboTax as well as computers. Whereas computers cost me money, TurboTax saves me money.
What's great about it: Instills confidence by drilling down ... down ... down to find hidden treasure.
What's not so great: Some of the help windows' info are too ambiguous.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Have used Turbo Tax for several years. Each year it gets easier to use. The process now compared to when I first started is so user friendly that anyone can do their taxes on-line.
What's great about it: Instructions and process quick and easy.
What's not so great: Review process sometimes cumbersome

tax credit

turbotax does not calculate the state of hi food/excise tax credit correctly. does not take into consideration all factors that qualify/disqualify. had to repay credit plus interest last year since it did not take into consideration that person was blind.

TurboTax Deluxe 2014

I've used Turbo tax for upward of 10 years. This was my 1st time using TT Deluxe. In the past I've used TT Basic for Federal & filed my IL tax on the state of IL on-line web site. The 19.99 I had to pay you is an expense I won't be making next year. You don't state anywhere, until the end, that I will incur either a 19.99 or 29.99 charge. I'm unhappy with this...Also, my entries on TT Basic was simpler than on TT Deluxe . I had to reorganize my data for entry into TT Deluxe.
What's great about it: All the verifications & checking in the process
What's not so great: The Charges for filing my state taxes

Tax return went smoothly. Q/A Help pointed to the work-around for the one form I had that was not directly supported. I did not use import functionality, as I found it easier to manually enter the data.
What's great about it: Walk-through method was straight-forward
What's not so great: 1099-S has no direct support
