A bit stressful

It seems to me, maybe it is just me, that each year, TurboTax becomes a little more difficult. I have been using it for 6 years, and it always throws some monkey wrench that has me backing up to verify and re-verify what I have done. At this point I haven't finished my state, i.e., I haven't printed it our for mailing. After I emailed my FIT, Turbo sent me to your feedback... I would like to complete everything before moving on. Also, the page asking if I wanted to efile both... it gave me an option to hold the state, but it didn't give me an option to NOT efile the state... hopefully, that comes now. Give me the option of reviewing my forms as I work on them. Also, for some reason, this year's TurboTax couldn't find last year's filing to download the pertinent info. 'Nuff said.
What's great about it: easy to efile
What's not so great: could only review the FIT forms... could not access state. I would like to see the results while working on it.

Unexpected amounts!

Overall, I would recommend this product! I got an unexpected amount of money I probably would not have found doing them myself, especially when I am a full time student.
What's great about it: easy
What's not so great: program crashed a couple of times
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Very easy and simple to use. Extremely helpful with the error check at the end. Ultimately the fastest time I have ever done my taxes in.

Review of TuboTax for 2013

I have used TurboTax for MANY years and I have always been happy with it. I noticed a few further improvements this year, for example, in entering charitable contributions.
My single complaint is that the VT state return has a glitch in the interface when dealing with tax-free income that comes from more than one state. Also the VT return does not provide the same level of help as does the Federal Return.
But I am a satisfied customer and will continue to use TurboTax.

It works

I have used both turbotax and tax preparers. Turbo tax is better. The year I used the preparer I ended up having to pay additional money - he entered deductions that I wasn't sure about but he said claim them. The deductions ended up not being accepted. What was interesting is I also used turbotax that year, and if I had gone with that I would have had no issues.
Turbotax walks you through each step and the explanations are easy to understand.
The one drawback was the help forum -- the turbox tax response is buried in with all the other comments - so I had to read 10 other responses before I saw it. I would like to either see the turboxtax member answer at the top or have an option to go directly to turbotax response.
I plan to continue using turbotax.
What's great about it: Pulls down information from previous tax years
What's not so great: Help portion - difficulty to work through all the resposes

This year I hit it in the Massachusetts Income Tax Form 1, Line 4, Taxable Pensions and Annuities. Turbo Tax gave me a screen that looked for all past distributions. I could not re-construct this information so I left it blank and continued. Not having an error message I assumed it caused no problem. I could not find a reference to this in the printed instructions. What was Turbo Tax looking for? Maybe I missed something.
What's great about it: Each year Turbo Tax gets better.
What's not so great: Each year a new addition can be confusing.
