Another great experience

Just another great experience with your program. You take so much of the guess work out of taxes it is no longer a scary issue. I no longer have self doubt when I finish my taxes I am very confident that they are do right.
What's great about it: Very detailed listing and i deducts is a great help and so simple
What's not so great: The business part is just a little confusing income and deductions

It is my third year using Turbo Tax, it has been very simple to file my taxes.
I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to have more control of their tax preparation.
It can empower you.

Okay, but starting to not work for me

I have used Turbo Tax for years. Last year I started to transfer money out of my IRA. I took part to pay a bill and part to transfer to my ROTH IRA. I entered two statements from my account the first was for the first transfer only but the second was for both. This was not a Turbo Tax error but a second set of eyes would have caught that error.
This error caused me to overpay my taxes. Using Turbo Tax I filed an amended form but this year Turbo Tax didn't recognize the amended form and so all the prior year comparisons were invalid. I mentally have to adjust the nice feature in Turbo Tax showing you your prior years so last years mistake doesn't throw me off.
This year when I did the transfer to the ROTH I got hit with the AMT again even though I had used the Federal estimator. I'm trying to transfer my IRA to my ROTH before I'm 70.5 and am forced to start taking payments. I can figure out the amount to prevent me from jumping to the next tax rate but the AMT has gotten me two year in a row now.
This year in Turbo Tax, somehow it thought I was declaring my ROTH as a loss. It took me hours to get that error corrected and I'm not sure how I entered it or how I corrected it.
I think my simple taxes are getting too complicated for Turbo Tax. Next year I'll see about using a Tax Accountant instead. Not getting hit with the AMT will pay for the Accountant.
What's great about it: Very through Q&A
What's not so great: It is too easy to make a mistake and too hard to correct.

Easiest Year -- 2014

I love using Turbo Tax...very easy to use...updates everything from previous years. very easy to navigate.
State form is nothing to it...everything comes from the federal form.
Each year seems to get easier to fill out my taxes.
Thanks for continuing to work for us.
What's great about it: Ease of update...everything loaded automatically
What's not so great: Sometime the questions don't apply....such as foreign investmensts...should only have to answer once on that subject.

Quick and Easy

Turbo Tax is an easy and efficient program to use in completing the tax forms. the program is written to find all deductions that may exist. The ease in e-filing is great.
I have used Turbo Tax for several years and will continue to do so in the future.
What's great about it: Easy of using the forms to complete information
What's not so great: None

Not as good as previously

The address on my printed 1099-R was different from the imported address of the payee. There was no way to enter my banking routing information to get State refund deposited; I e-filed Federal where I owed money. I had to supply my bank routing number to e-file for Federal. Although I received dividends for one stock last year and did not delete it from the list, when I went to find it when trying to enter the dividends this year it was no longer listed. The medical deductions did not separate out the dental from the medical nor did it say to combine them.
All-in-all I did not feel comfortable that the completed forms were indeed accurate. But in trying to go back I was not able to get to the places that I wanted to see. Mostly because the re-look tended to skip things because I had them filled out; or it did not clearly indicate how to get to that information.
I have a very low risk of being audited so I will never know if things were really correct or not.
What's great about it: Relatively easy to follow their steps
What's not so great: Presentation changes made it difficut to be sure things were all considered
Pros: I bought or sold investments
