Easy to follow instructions to fill out the necessary forms. The prompts for using the program were very helpful. Help question answers were helpful. Will use this program again.

No refund, no joy.

TurboTax makes having to brave the paper empire of the infernal revenue service almost enjoyable. It lets you stop anywhere and pick up again when you calmed down. It saved me money this year by finding areas I did not know about.
What's great about it: Descriptions of all of the fields
What's not so great: Requiring to have to pay money to gov't
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I owe federal and get a refund for state. I want to e file state and mail in federal. It appears TurboTax will not let me do that.

2013 Review - Refund of Federal Tax Return

Had entered Sales Taxes twice for two items. Turbo did not catch in review. Saw error when the return and all worksheets were printed before filing. If the error had not been caught, I would have received over $3,500 in the refund and would had to pay back with penalties.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: Did not catch a duplicate input.

No warnings re: excess Roth contributions. I just happened to look at worksheets, and discovered the issue. Couldn't the system somehow have warned me as I was entering the data?
What's great about it: easy to install, easy to use
What's not so great: help and visibility to worksheets could be better

Some day the e-filing for state returns will get resolved. Makes sense that they would save more money by electronic filing than by handling paper. Until then, print out and mail works for me. The overall process was quick and easy. It helps that Intuit has improved over the years, getting better about the questions and how they ask for info, making it easier to import from other sources. Thanks!
