Easy to use

Excellent, thorough, simple, thought provoking, step by step process, saved a lot of manual manipulation.

It was the best of times; it was the worst of time

I had put all day into working on my Federal 1040. Then I downloaded the State. But when it asked me to Open the State, it froze up. I closed the whole TurboTax program intending to open it up again...but it didn't give me my 2013 Return, but a Federal 2012 Return what was not even correct.
I called TurboTax Support and she was very patient with me and walked me through my problem step-by-step...having to reboot the TurboTax Deluxe program off the CD. She was able to retrieve my day's work and the State download.

I have used turbo tax for over 5 yr now and it works well for me.
What's great about it: easy to follow

Crash session

Note: I am using the same computer and operating system
as in past years. In the past I have never had a lockup or crash to desktop of Turbotax. This year it happened 3 times. The first time required repairing the software thru the add/uninstall option on control panel. After the repair I had to restart my entries from the beginning. This is the reason for only 4 stars.

Charitable donaations challenging

Donating a vehicle was very easy, claiming the deduction on the taxes was challenging. I had to go online and review several pages before I found the path required to enter my 1098-C.
What's great about it: Finds deductions
What's not so great: Must dig for correct entries

I have used Turbo tax for atlease 6 years now and plan to continue using it.
What's great about it: Makes it easy doing it step by step and covers items most people might forget
What's not so great: some items that are not common are confusing
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
