The Price is Right!

Why pay to have your taxes done? You can do it with Turbo Tax. Even itemizing deductions is made easy with their special lookup system that figures the amounts for donated items for you.
What's great about it: Easy to use with extra detailed information readily available.
What's not so great: Too bad I still had to pay this year.

MY WIFE AND I HAVE BEEN GOING TO H&R BLOCK FOR SEVERAL YEARS...THIS YEAR WE TRIED TURBO TAX, AND WE'RE SO GLAD WE DID. FILING WAS EASY AND QUICK. WE'RE DEFINETLY A REPEAT CUSTOMER.
What's great about it: VERY EASY FOR FIRST TIME USER.
What's not so great: NOTHING

No Stress

I have always put off doing my taxes until the very last day, because I have always dreaded doing them. This year I said I was not going to wait, and put aside time this weekend because of forecast for a snow storm, so I knew I would be home bound for at least a day.
Everything went so smoothly...I could not believe how well everything went. Your system has greatly improved, I really appreciate what you have done.
I liked that all of my information from last year was automatically rolled over to this years forms...a great time saver.
Great job!!!
What's great about it: Enjoyed doing my taxes this year
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Worked well until erroneous File Save Error

The file save error occurred during the printing of the print preview copy. Turbo Tax has been doing this for enough years to not have this type of problem. Also TurboTax needs to hire smarter programs. Cant use ... as part of my nickname above, really folks? Also death is a part of 'life changes", embrace it.
Other than that it is its usual easy to use program.

What's not so great: File Save Error - internal bug not fixed yet

Hasn't Failed Me Yet!

I have been using Turbo Tax for years and as long as I'm doing my own taxes, I wouldn't do it any other way. They walk you through every form step by step. Once all the data is there, they tell you which way to file is going to be best for you. If you don't understand something, there are a couple of different support/help options to choose from. The tool is user friendly, which makes doing taxes a lot less scary. I would recommend this to my friends!!
What's great about it: Shows all forms. Gives you the best option based on your data.
What's not so great: Its a lot of forms! :)

Another year

Each year I ask for the same thing: A "read-only" look at previous years files without having to load the control software from that year. Sometimes I just like to look at the way I answered a specific question in the past. At present I must load the control software for that year, then lookup that section of the return.
What's great about it: The question/answer format is still the best
What's not so great: Inablility to "see" previous years
