Quick and Easy

I've used Turbo Tax for the last 7 years to do my taxes and like the easy of doing my taxes in the comfort of my own home. I feel comfortable using the application as it has proven itself over the years. I feel confident that when I do my taxes that I'm using the most up-to-date tax laws. I love the audit potentials identified at the end of the return which gives me the peace of mind of know what to expect if audited.
What's great about it: The detail review of all items.
What's not so great: Finding an item to update if you missed something.

I have used TurboTax for the last 6 years to assist me in preparing my taxes. I have always felt very comfortable with the software and my perception of how accurate the calculations are.
I remain sold on this product!
What's great about it: Ease of use, clear instructions, rapid and accurate preparation

Transferring previous years data made for a simple painless update and file. If I knew how to make it better, I would be the tax pro!

Turbo Tax shouldn't say everything is fine because if you don't know what you're doing you can enter information correctly but it can be so wrong in reality that the novice thinks it's okay. So if there is any kind of difficult tax problem the novice should not be doing there own taxes.
But for me, I love that I know enough that I can with confidence do my, my children and my grandchildren's taxes.

2013 Improvements that could be made

TurboTax 2013 did not import my 2012 data correctly. It imported personal data only and not the prior year tax data including income, deductions, interest, dividends--nothing. Therefore, no comparisons were available.
Next, my files require one copy of my 1040 and one copy of my California 540. TurboTax prints two (2) copies of my 1040 and one copy of my 540. Not a big deal, just a waste of paper and ink.

Only issue is doing the estimated taxes for small amounts in the interview version. Limited options causes you to go directly to the forms.

easy breezy

My old computer crashed with all last years tax info had to start from scratch. I expected it to take all day or possibly my whole weekend. wasnt bad at all. easier than i thought.
What's great about it: I felt it was easier this year. My old computer crashed with all last year info, Started from scratch was simple
