Good service

In Turbo Tax questions, under HSA , it asked for Company contribution My Company Contribution was already deducted from my taxable income and is listed in line 12 W If I had entered the amount contributed by my Company, it would have incorrectly double-deducted my Company HSA contribution from my income. I think the column should be more specific and request a Turbo Tax user to list any additional HSA Company Contributions
What's great about it: covers all possible exemptions
What's not so great: problem with HSA entry line

I've been using TurboTax for over 10 years, and it keeps getting better and easier to use! It loads fast on my computer, updates itself regularly, easy to follow instructions, and best of all.... easy to efile.
I recommend this product with no reservations.
What's great about it: Easy to understand, quick, very detailed
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Several, not enough help with 1098 T, 1099 Misc, State tax questions and difficulties with the state property tax refund, not allowing me to opt out (uncheck box) trying to give me a $700 refund when I clearly did not deserve one. Each year turbo tax is losing it's edge. The cons are starting to out weigh the pros.
What's great about it: brings up all the sections and transfer if info from last year is easy
What's not so great: Several listed below

Made My 2013 Taxes Easier To Swallow

I have used other tax software in the past but heard a lot of good feedback about Turbo tax and wanted to give it a try this year. Took me a little while to get comfortable navigating around but the more I moved around the more I understood the various options it provides like allowing you to go directly to the forms versus going through the interview process or importing some tax documents so that you don't have to type it.
What's great about it: Loved importing some tax docs directly.Help feature was great.Used it to determine if income was reportable or taxable
What's not so great: Cover sheet - helpful if it included date and time of filed return and 2013 PIN's

Overall a great product. Easy step-by-step instructions. On one occasion when I was confused by the Health Care Deduction acronyms I need to call there telephone support. They were awesome and clarified all of my questions.
What's great about it: Awesome Telephone Support
What's not so great: Some of the Deductions are confusing if they don't apply to you... especially the Health Care Section

Great Program--save $$ from hiring tax accountant
on March 1, 2014

The program worked smoothly, knows where to put all information and how to do the math, asks the right questions looking for additional deductions, etc. Everything great until final payment questions.
What I thought was the final step noted amount owed to Feds, amount of state refund, Turbo's filing fee, then "Total Refund." The way they got to that amount was not clear to many besides me, judging from questions posted. As a math teacher would tell them: show your work, and do so before final step in e-filing.
System for handling questions awkward, but would be easier if people had better knowledge of tax system; many questions posted that had nothing to do with Turbo's job--issues with States' or IRS statutes, rules, or systems clutter up the question entries.
I am a retired mother and grandmother.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, choice of step-by-step or self enter info
What's not so great: Final payment and refund amounts need clarification
