2013 is the tenth year I've used TurboTax. I have no plans to use anything else.
What's great about it: It is sinple to follow the steps
What's not so great: Some of the descriptions are difficult to understand with the language.

Helped with college changes

I have been using TurboTax for years to file my taxes and, more recently, my son's as well. This year, he turned 18 and went to college. There were so many changes! TurboTax walked us through them. A couple of times, I had to ask a question of the online community. Each time, they were able to provide an answer and a couple of times they directed me to the MD tax return website. While I am disappointed that MD has made changes that have a negative effect on me, I am glad that TurboTax helped me navigate through the many changes I faced this year.
What's great about it: walked me through every step
What's not so great: some changes with MD returns meant I had to go to another website to read about the changes

It's a no-brainer!

I've been using TurboTax for several years, and this year's version is the simplest I've used! It automatically imported everything from last year, and guided me through the parts I needed, and didn't burden me with stuff I didn't need. It kept be posted along the way as to what I could expect as a refund, and was the quickest tax prep I've ever experienced!
Filing was a breeze, and the only thing that could be better would be if they could file the state refund for FREE!

What's great about it: I actually understod their questions!
What's not so great: The refund isn't instant (of course, it couldnt be, this is the government!)

the best tax software

I have used turbo tax for many years and find it the best product compared to all others.
What's great about it: easy to use and helpful tutoring
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Over all great product, however I had an issue when it came to the E File submission, I received a message to the effect that I needed to do an update for my return to be transmitted , so I completed the update and still received the same error message, I rebooted my computer , tried again and still received the same error , I again did an update and then still had the same result , stated that there were no updates , so I tried again and after @ 5 tries it appears that the e File went through. Fingers still crossed .
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Issue with submitting the E-File

Turbotax for a MAC needs to be fixed where you don't get transmittal errors. As a three year customer will be looking for another tax product next year due to this issue.

Turbo Tax does the "heavy lifting"

We've used Turbo Tax for several years now and it's found credits I wouldn't have thought about or knew existed. Gotten family members back more than expected as a result.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax calculates all schedules necessary to file return based on information you input.
What's not so great: None
