Very Pleased

Overall this was a very pleasant experience. After about 10 years with Turbo Tax, I tried H&R Block software last year but came back to Turbo Tax. TT is much more user friendly and much faster - H&R Block took me twice as long. My only complaint is that I had one error pop up and had a hard time trying to figure out what they were trying to tell me. Eventually I got it (I hope). But, I will definitely stay with Turbo Tax from now on.
What's great about it: Quick, quesions easy to understand, efiling was a breeze
What's not so great: Hard to understand an error message

Turbo Tax is great

I love Turbo Tax and have been using it for years. If you want to file taxes with less frustration, this is the way to go. Just make sure your computer system is compatible.
What's great about it: Explains in plain English a complicated process
What's not so great: Sometimes updates don't quite work right

I have never had a lock up problem before. had to restart my computer two time during compiling data. Had to restart .The good part was it saved the data I had put in.

Late forms cause delay

I've used turbotax since 1993, so obviously I'm mostly pleased. This year with the late changes to the tax laws, I was not able to complete my taxes and file until almost the end of February. Also, an employer had over withheld medicare taxes 1992-98 just this year sent the funds as well as the interest that it had earned. This caused me to pay additional taxes now because I'm in a higher income bracket than I was in those days. The delay in the instructions for Form 8960 delayed my filing and my ability to finish my son's FAFSA for scholarships for next year in a timely manner. That was troublesome.
Secondly, your forms do not include all of the OK state forms needed for additional credits. I was able to find them on the OK tax site relatively easily, but the number of one that turbotax referred me to use was not the same number as the form that I needed. I needed 511CR not 511EF. In fact, there is not a 511EF. TurboTax did correctly identify Form 567A and Form 576.
Overall, I will continue to use your software because, for the most part it works well. Hopefully, these comments will help you to improve it for next year, or for those who've not yet filed/used the software yet this year.
What's great about it: all federal forms needed were included eventually
What's not so great: the delay and having to look up several state forms myself

Handled first year of retirement

I rely on Turbo Tax yearly, and was pleased as it too me through some of the new income and deduction/exclusion experiences of retirement.
What's great about it: Handled intricacies of Social Security, Pensions, Michigan pensions.
What's not so great: Could have been clearer in classifying for Michigan Pension exclusion after 65.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It's like getting on a slow moving bus that starts where ever you are and stops when you have your return filed. You sit and relax, answer the questions and - voilà - you're done.

Wisconsin Refund Pay the Feds

Great Program easy to use. Beats the old paper way of doing taxes. Using since I can't remember. A couple computers ago anyway.
What's great about it: Simple easy to use
What's not so great: If you defrag your hard drive you have to uninstall and re-install Turbotax
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
