Good Tax Software

My tax situation is straightforward and TurboTax gives me confidence in my returns being accurate, and getting the best for me.

K-1 nightmare

I was not able to enter and get the program to accept my K-1 form. It began a circular fix that just went in circles....maddening
What's great about it: The process went well with one huge exception
What's not so great: K-1 entry form was a disaster

I purchased business K1 disk and personal disc and get some free e-file I dont knoe why you cant just include statte and fed efile in cost of disk i hate to pay more and more have to buy two software to do corp return and personna the had to pay two more times to efile returns

Great experience from start to finish!

I am an avid TurboTax fan! We have used TurboTax for over 5 years now. It is so easy I would be lost without it.
After the initial install I always check for updates - and they loaded with no problems. The system is so easy and user friendly to use. When I see the TV commercials talking about how easy it is to use I agree and smile knowing that I have already done my taxes with TurboTax!
I would highly reccomend this to anyone - even a tax pro. Why go through all the forms yourself when you can have TurboTax guide you through the entire process? Will use again and again and again... We always try to buy it early so it does not get sold out. Then all it takes is having the right documents in your hand and a computer and you are done in no time at all.
I also reccomend the Audit Defense. For me it is worth the small price to pay to get the peice of mind that you are fully protected in the event of an audit. That alone is one of the many reasons why we use TurboTax every year.
Also very easy to e-file both Federal and state returns. Easy to print copy for our records and to save a pdf copy on my PC. Great product that actually does what they say it will do - how refreshing in todays market to have a product and company stand behind and deliver on their claims they make in ther TV ads and in-store marketing! - john

What's great about it: Easy to use, easy to load, easy to get updates. Walks you right through every step.
What's not so great: I completed my return over several days (my choice) and when returning you had to review a few sections first.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

the 1099-b form was not helpful; not the same.

the 1099-div and 1099-b forms in turbo tax did not follow forms I received.... Disappointed this year.

Certain sections called up prior year data but had no tabs or information to add2013 data after re-inputting then it showed as a duplicate entry m0re user friendliness would have been nice some dollar amounts remained unrounded careless testing on your part
What's great about it: calculaing very good
What's not so great: some sections did not round other sections left me confused

I had to call to get the info on where to upgrade the changes. the info should be in the instructions on the box for upgrade. You need to click on the upper right corner on ONLINE to get the upgrades.

Takes the headache out of tax time

I've been using Turbo Tax for several years now and it has been a lifesaver at tax time. Using it the first time I discovered an error I made while doing my son's taxes and it allowed me to go back and recoup those lost credits. This year we found we qualified for credits I never would have bothered with. Love Turbo Tax!
