2013 Return

Have been using Turbo Tax for a number of years without any problems. Am very glad it exists - otherwise would be very difficult and unnerving.
What's great about it: Ease of Use
What's not so great: Wish I had more knowledge
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I have been using TT for years and it has always impressed me. I highly recommend it. I use Deluxe for the state return which our esteemed lawmakers have made more complicated recently, but TT has them covered.
The only problem I've had was trying to get the 2013 software loaded and TT had a quick and simple fix. Great.
What's great about it: price, ease of use, thoroughness

Great; excepting need for a bank account

I really ran into a snag when attempting to submit electronically; yet receive the refund via mail. I just couldn't get around the need to provide a bank account information. Forced me to submit by mail, as well. Have used TurboTax for years for me and family. Love it.
What's great about it: Most all the steps are easy to follow, and the accuracy is spot on.
What's not so great: Confusion when choosing to submit electronically, but refund to home address.

I am a part-time musician, and TT does not ask if I bought my equipment used, which I did, only asks if I bought it new. Maybe that wouldn't affect the final numbers, but not having that option didn't allow me to find out if I could depreciate my equipment. There also should be an option as to paying to share space, as well as formal rent that is paid to a landlord, though I don't know what the tax law would be re that. Even the family life questions below are too general. Yes, I have kids, but they are adults not supported by me.
What's great about it: No mathematical calculations for me to worry about
What's not so great: Some of my issues weren't options

Finished Return

Do to a failure on my part (keeping my logon and password for TurboTax) it caused me a lot of circular processing attempting to complete my returns. Many of the attempts were trying to get "human" help so I could find out which ID was last used --- turns out there were four IDs associated with the same e-mail address. It me more than a little while to figure out which one would work.........
Otherwise this a clean and fast processing system of minimum inputs and maximum outputs.
What's great about it: Very Straight Forward data entry -- many other packages require details about tax prep.
What's not so great: Seems to hangup towards the end of processing and this time do to the way I processed it forced the Audit Support Funct.
