2013 taxes

Using TurboTax is still easy to use and carries forward all your information from last year(if you used turbotax) and all you need to do is have the program step you through each step and you can breeze through your federal and state taxes.
What's great about it: easy as always
What's not so great: 8853 page 2 changed but still had to mail federal return

TurboTax Fed filing 2013

For the first time in the many years I've bee using TT, I owed federal tax. It took a lot of looking to check this in TT and even more looking to find the quarterly payment vouchers. There seemed to be no step-by-step to determine if I have to pay quarterly in 2014, or if I could make payments if I wanted to. The form for calculating estimated taxes is too complex. The Fed calls the quarterly vouchers 1040-ES while TT calls them 1040ES 1, 1040ES 2, etc. Hence a search on 1040-ES comes up blank.
What's great about it: step by step works well
What's not so great: had difficulty determining whether I had to pay quarterly estimated payments during 2014

I am more than happy to have the Turbo Tax tool to get me through this annual painful process. Cost is way below CPA fees and now I can move on with the rest of my life.
What's great about it: Clear instructions and direction.
What's not so great: Really? It's tax filing!!!

buggy

Completely locked up computer about 18 times during doing taxes. Has not done this in the past. Really buggy and slow at times. Had to install a different pdf reader to be able to print forms. May try another program next year
What's great about it: Did return easily
What's not so great: Crashed frequently and did not recognize adobe pdf reader

I think this is the strongest tax product out there, for both those that prefer to enter it on their own, and those that want to go throught the question process.

Longtime Turbo Tax User

I like the way TT loads data from the previous year's TT. I've used TT for at least 25 years, its always easy to use.
Con: I always print State and save $. It would be great if the e-file to the state was included in the price like the federal is. When I pressed "Back" before completing the e-filing. E-filing defaults to "E-file" for State. I almost e-filed both Fed and State when I only wanted to e-file Fed now.
What's great about it: load data from previous year's TT, always easy to use
What's not so great: E-filing defaults to "E-file" for State.
