The only problem that I had was when it asks if my pension was from serving as a public safety officer and did I have Medical Ins taken out of my pension. If I answer yes to both it will reduce my income, but I am not entitled to this since I retired early. I have researched this and though I am well past the age of normal retirement, I am still not entitled because I took early retirement originally.

ALMOST makes filing a tax return FUN !

I have been using TurboTax since the first year it was offered. I love the simplicity and auto fill features of this program. I've never once been audited or had any issues with any return.
It seems this years return was even faster to fill out. I love the reminders and TIPS and alerts as you go.

What's not so great: I have no cons using this program - gets better every year.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Taxes Be Gone!

I have used Turbo Tax for years as does my siblings. I recommend it to my friends as it is easy to follow and I have never had an issues with it. I think it covers all aspects of taxes (federal and state) and offers many things for the user to consider before finalizing the return.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate, quick to get through.
What's not so great: None I know of!

2013 tax's

TT is getting better with its flow. One big ongoing ( every year) problem is on handling a 1099-MISC that is not due to a business or farm. Turbo tax forces you to treat the 1099-misc as if you had a business, You can check a box that says other income b but then you are forced to select a type of business that you got the income for, The 1099-misc is from Acclaris/IBM for a partial refund of premiums that we pay to a Life planning account. NOT A BUSINESS. At one time Turbo tax had a box to select under other income of other with the ability for you to type in the reason for the other income if it did not met the choices in the drop down . I see the IRS still allows you to put in other income, not from a business. I ALSO SEE THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. Turbo Tax should reinstall the other income selection of other income with a description.
What's great about it: Prompts are good
What's not so great: Can't handle a 1099-mics that not from a business income

Using TurboTax

I have used TurboTax for the last 8 to 10 years and have had no problem with audits or incorrect information except once on a state form. For the money, it is worth the price to be able to complete my own taxes with a minimum of hassle.
What's great about it: Easy and quick
What's not so great: Used online version last year and couldn't transfer files

I have used Turbo Tax for the last 15 years. Would not consider changing to another software.

All there is to filing a tax return is to answer all the questions correctly, the program does the rest including the review. Made my job easier.
