Great tax software

I have been using TurboTax for quite a few years now. It is very easy to use and stores all of my personal and tax information from the previous year so that I do not have to keep filling out forms. Since e-file is free, I get my refund in less that 1 week vs. 6 to 8 weeks that it takes when you mail them in.
What's great about it: Easy to use; brings up last years tax information so I do not have to fill out the forms .
What's not so great: Pricey.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Snag with the update soured my experience

I haved used TurboTax for years and never had a problem. I also use it for my small business, I love the easy to follow step by step instruction. I truly feel TurboTax helps me find the best return. I trust TurboTax with my taxes and will continue to use them.
BUT, only this year for 2013, there is a serious snag with the required program update for TurboTax, It kept erroring out and when I clicked for more detail it froze up. I finally logged into my turbotax account and found the solution, a manual update that I needed to download. Way too difficult to find. I am still grumbling. But all ends well, after the update everything worked fine and I just finished filing my taxes.
I expect TurboTax do to better for next years filing :)
What's great about it: Still love the convenience of pulling last years data over.
What's not so great: Program update kept erroring out had to upload manually

Easy and complete filing process

This is at least my 5th consecutive year of using Turbo Tax software and I would not seek a different solution to filing my taxes. The simplicity and thoroughness of the software takes the filing process from the "Dreaded" to the "Now that was easy" attitude. I am a very satisfied customer and recommend it to all my friends.
What's great about it: The step by step guidance and the complete depth of finding all income and expenses.
What's not so great: None

We've used TurboTax for the past ten years. It's easy, safe, and our refund (or payment, if needed) is quick. TurboTax is the best - even over a tax preparation company or an accountant. You've never been wrong!

English Ineptitude

Overall, as a foreigner filing my first tax return, it was excellent. Turbo Tax does most of the calculations for you and leads you gently through all the mine fields one at a time and in a logical order so that you suddenly think "Oops, I haven't thought of ...." and "Hey Presto!" There is another delectable expense you are reminded of.
I would highly recommend this product for any lay person trying to be self sufficient - Excellent!

What's great about it: Took me through all the twists and turns of filing taxes
What's not so great: Terminology - Had to fill in "FMV" of rental vehicle; neither the local garage , tax chat line help new what it meant!

Easy Refund

I always use TurboTax and am happy with the entire experience but I am always annoyed that I have to pay to eFile my state returns, especially when the state recommends that I eFile as opposed to mailing them in. If they don't want people mailing them in then charge them not me.
Also, it seems like I always expect a larger return than what I actually get so I wish there was an easier way to verify that I'm getting the largest refund possible.
