Glad I have Turbo Tax

Your software does a good job.The entire tax return requirements imposed by the IRS are far too complicated.
The effort required to prepare the K-1 form is challenging and very difficult to understand. I'm glad I use Turbo Tax but I'm
not sure I adequately comprehend all the data included in the return.

I have taxable pension income from foreign sources that is neither interest, dividend or K-1 related. TurboTax DeLuxe was unable to deal with it, and I was forced to go directly to the Forms 1040 and 1116 to enter the data for income and tax credit respectively. I wasted many hours over this until I sorted it out.
I have had this source of income for many years and have previously used either Premier or Home & Business versions without these problems
What's great about it: Excellent treatment of regular income and of most excursions therefrom ,
What's not so great: Inadequate treatment of some foreign source income

I believe I checked to have my refund credited to 2014 but when filing theform indicated I would receive the refund in my bank. It did not arrive but I can't verify that the refund will be credited to 2014.

Federal was excellent as usual. State was difficult and not well understood by me. I was resident in Florida, but had some NY income in 2013 because I was paid in 2013 for work done in 2012. I am not sure that everything was done correctly. This was strictly a one time problem, and I will happily use Turbo Tax again next year
What's great about it: Excellent walk through Confident that everything was covered in the Federal Return
What's not so great: State was confusing and inaccurate.

Just like Summer vacation

After struggling through paying taxes all year, TurboTax comes along and gives a "Summer Vacation".
What's great about it: TurboTax makes the questions easy to understand - no legal "mumbo jumbo".
What's not so great: Can't you make it free? (Just kidding)

I have used turbo tax for many years and I have learned it is by far the best way for me to process and file my returns.
What's great about it: Fast, accurate, reliable
What's not so great: Should Include State Tax E-file for Free.
