extra costs

It is not clear how to avoid all the extra fees, processing fees extra fees for state processing . It all adds up.

because of a hard drive failure I lost last year info. I completed my return and got the return finished and found a lot of error your program missed.
I found a back up of last year return and started a new return using a transfer of last year info and complete my return that was error free as far as I can see and feel confident in filings.
I am not sure what happened the first time and second time I tried to do my return but both left me wondering about the accuracy of the program. I have used TurboTax for many years so it was not a beginners error.

Overall, satisfied with Turbo. I use it every year. Very user friendly and confidence I'm getting maximum refund.
What's great about it: Easy to use, maximizes refund
What's not so great: Could have given more asistance with state return info.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Turbo Trust

I've used Turbo Tax for years. Never had any issues. My data gets transferred, questions asked, and forms filled out seamlessly. Do I trust that Turbo Tax has done and will continue to do their homework, thoroughly researching all Federal and State tax laws and writing their software accordingly? Absolutely. It's not just a blind trust, however. I talk with colleagues and I check that things look right. All good. Turbo Trust.

Makes Taxes As Easy As Chutes & Ladders

I've been using TT for years. I shop around each year for best price, but login under same account so multiple years are easy to access online anytime. It autofills most of the information from year to year, but is easy to modify for life changes. W-2 and Investment importing is a snap, and the online advice and forums always have quick free answers to any questions. You can watch how each entry affects your refund, which is amazingly helpful in understanding taxes. It shoots up or down or stays the course, which is why I say it's like playing Chutes and Ladders. From first time tax filer to advanced filers with complex situations, turbo tax makes filing easy! My dad made tax time out to be awful, but I converted him to Turbo Tax 5 years ago. He said he completed taxes in a record 27 minutes this year using TT! My sister and I couldn't even BREATHE when we walked by the dining room table where he used to do the taxes. It saves us money in refunds, tax preparation fees & even hospital bills by lowering your risk of heart atTAX!
What's great about it: Quick, easy, accurate & affordable

Great Tax Software

Great tax software, easy to use but the foreign tax paid was a little hard to follow at first. Did not know I had made an error until the final review and it took some time to figure out the problem.
Start to finish (including printing copies and importing data from broker - new to me) two hours and twenty minutes. If I had tried this by hand it would have been days and it would have most likely been wrong.
Thanks for a great package. I will use TurboTax again next year.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Foreign tax paid was cumberson and hard to follow
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Taxes made easy

It maybe be easier to have an accountant do your taxes because of the personal on-spot advise vs winging it with Turbotax. The overall cost is about the same in the end.
What's great about it: Turbotax makes it easy
What's not so great: Added costs at the end (transmitting & State fees)
