Easy for me to use

Very Easy to use and this is why I use Turbo Tax year after year.
What's great about it: Easy to use and able to find answers to my questions
What's not so great: the back button does not remove the entries.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2013 Tax Refund

Walked me through the half year of ownership and included the nonemployee compensation expenses with my home office.
What's great about it: Excellent results with selling my firm this year in July.
What's not so great: Lengthy but productive
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Always a great experience

TurboTax has always been a great tax program. I have used it for over 10 years. The program keeps getting easier to understand as tax laws change.
There was only one small issue for me this year. When it came time to transmit my returns electronically, I continually received a transmission error.
I went to Intuit website and located a help suggestion to download and install a patch manually. Once I did that, everything worked fine. First time for this problem, so I'm not too concerned about it.
What's great about it: Ease of use and understanding
What's not so great: one small glitch

Idiot proof and maximized my refund

I have been using Turbo Tax for over 15 years now and I love how every year the software becomes easier and easier to use. Asking questions that one never thinks of asking that are necessary. I love the double check at the end and this year choose the Audit Support as I got the biggest refund in my whole life since I started filing my taxes over 30 years ago.
Easy to use, prompts for the key questions, step by step and you dont have to know anything about how to do your taxes to use it!
What's great about it: quick and useful help topics if you are not sure of the very clear questions
What's not so great: More free and less fees for filing - seriously no cons on functionality at all
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

after years finally problem turbo tax couldnt solv

got a 1099 from Corporation for National and Community Service (Americorps) which pays 5k towards tuition. the program had no idea where to put that item and started making me fill out Schedule C. what a mess.
after some online searching i determined that it was other income Line 21 on 1040. which i put in through override.
i had enough deductions to cover this income, but otherwise i would have had to pay taxes on this,
Tens of thousands of people participate in Americorps, Turbo Tax should include this tuition reimbursement in the program.
What's not so great: No provision for Americorps tuition grant

very helpful built-in to assist in obtaining the IRS PIN # for e-filing... very pleased with process. per Pros and Cons, many more Pros... relatives that still use other vendors have paid a lot more for their personal services, and this product's method s make it pretty easy to save even more money by doing most of the work myself, with minor expense.
Really appreciate the free (Included) e-file federal with the purchase, just wish the State e-file was free, too, instead of free Quicken software version... so maybe an OPTION in future would be nice?!
Being a little bit old school, I still like to print a copy, but would have liked easier option(s) to reduce total pages by adjusting fonts/etc., not reducing details.
All in all - LOVED IT..!

What's great about it: stepped thru energy refund options nicely; loved on-line Its Deductible and import; loved import from W2s + investments
What's not so great: would like smaller print fonts on calculation worksheets when printing (fewer pages)
