Nice and easy

This is a great program, makes doing taxes a manageable task for time strapped American.
What's great about it: Quick and to the point. All questions answered.
What's not so great: Have not found any yet.

Good but not great

I have used TurboTax for almost 20 years now. I find it convenient, easy to use, more or less intuitive, and helps me keep good records. It is NOT foolproof, however. I suspect I miss some deductions every year, but the convenience outweigh that. This year, however, TurboTax almost cost me $2,800 by not identifying that my solar was TWO not ONE system and thus eligible for two credits. In my mind, THAT is a big mistake. I was lucky I fought it. The program was clueless that such a thing even existed.
What's great about it: Simple, walk through tax guide
What's not so great: NOT FOOLPROOF!!!

Good Product

The tax program is excellent in my opinion. I have used it for many years now - almost 10???
What always maddens me is 1.) that you keep my credit card records and send me your product every year without giving me the opportunity to turn it off. I can no longer access my account, so I have not been able to change anything - but you manage to keep sending me stuff and 2.) that paying for additional things at the end is more work than doing my taxes.
Give me an option up front for what services I want, or make the payment steps easier in the end.

Had a lot of difficulty dealing with 1099-B's received in mail and then inputting data into TTax. TTax doesn't have a data entry form that looks anything like the 1099-B's received from financial institutions. It should mirror them for ease of entry.
What's not so great: Need to be a tax expert to answer some of Step-by-Step questions.

City refund Wrong

If I was inexperienced I would have overpaid the City tax. The program did not asked for my input. The I was required to file for has different levels depending upon residency. Turbo automatically included income earned in another municipality. I am not happy. I now have to find the appropriate form on my own, print, fill out, and file. I just wasted a great deal of paper and ink. I would not have caught the error if this was my first time filing a city return.
What's great about it: Lots of on line help with federal and state
What's not so great: Automatically did the City refund without my input and it was wrong
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
