Easy to use year to year.
What's great about it: Import makes it easy. follow their lead or go your own way
What's not so great: Be careful with placing numbers, they use what you enter! so review when they tell you to.

Missing Federal estimate planning for current year

The software seemed adequate and thorough for previous year's tax reporting needs. The state asked adequate questions for planning for current year's estimates. The main issue I ran into this year was planning for the current year's federal estimates. My income status is changing and I was not able to get the system to recognize that 2014 would be different from 2013 for planning purposes.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Blew it

I received Assessments this year from both the Fed IRS and the NC State Rev LARGE. Error on my 2011 due to missed 1099R. My wife was retired from teaching and from Social Services. The teaching was deducted under the BAILEY Act but Turbo Tax didn't explain or I didn't comprehend that her SS Retirement didn't qualify since she wasn't vested 5 years prior to 1989. So I didn't claim her retirement as taxable income and BOOM!
What's great about it: Over all Turbo Tax is always great and easy
What's not so great: In 2011 it failed me for 1st time

Still Great!

I have been using TurboTax in excess of fifteen years. As I have aged and my taxes have become a bit more complicated, TurboTax's software has kept up with my needs. Over time, convenience has increased dramatically and my confidence that my taxes are done correctly has remained steadfast.
What's great about it: Do my taxes in my robe and slippers
What's not so great: Getting a little pricey.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax is super easy to use. It walks you through everything. Returns are quick and filing is quality checked by Turbo Tax. I have used it for years never an issue.

It's your money

After you get your tax items in order and ready to go its just a matter on reading and putting in the numbers. It helps me to remember items I have forgotten and the program covers it all.
What's great about it: Fast and easy to follow
What's not so great: The prep to get started on our end.

TurboTax is Great

I like the walk through process when beginning for the year. Once through the entire process short of filing, any detail can be edited by going directly to that segment of the walkthrough or by going to the Forms option. For example, when in the final review, I didn't like the inconsistency with prior years' results. After reviewing the detail, I found a typo in the tax withheld on a w-2. I could easily correct the typo! Yay!
I do not like your handling of the RITA tax in the Ohio state section. On last years return you miscalculated somehow; this year the program didn't do any calculations. I realize that may be corrected in future updates, but this is almost the end of February.
What's great about it: Walking through every step, then being able to review the actual forms
What's not so great: Program seems to require moving through every worksheet when it seems unnecessary.
