Much easier than I anticipated. Thank you for being there after our "tax guy" decided to bail on us this year!
What's great about it: Holds you by the hand every step of the way.
What's not so great: Some language was a little over my head, but I got through it.

I have been using Turbo Tax for a number of years, once I was convinced by my father-in-law ( Former Tax Guy). He told me he had been using it for some time and it was easy to use. Can't go wrong. He has been right. Thanks Turbo!
What's great about it: Explains every step!

2013

My tax return was relatively simple this year. I only had one W-2 to enter. My only gripe is that I had to give up on importing my data from 2012. I had some business income in 2012 which I did not have in 2013. I kept on getting error messages in the "Review" portion of the program regarding things like business related mileage even though I tried to delete all all business income data. I wasn't comfortable trying to fix these errors by "zeroing" out the data. In the end, I had to re-enter everything from scratch without the import, and everything worked out fine.
What's great about it: Tax return was relatively simple.
What's not so great: Import of last year's info was not smooth.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Death of filer
on February 24, 2014
Posted by: doniosi
I could not e-file because my dad died last year and the return got kicked back due to Social Security saying he had died. Each time I tried to file by mail (in the program) Turbo Tax would change it to e-file. So I typed (where to mail return) in the search box, no results. You din not provide good results for a death. The Turbo tax community said death is handled poorly with no explanation on how to send the return.
What's great about it: Easy to use mostly
What's not so great: Death in Family

What's great about it: Easy and convenient
What's not so great: a glitch

Great Tax Program for Students
on February 24, 2014
Posted by: CapeCodSpider
I highly recommend this program for students filing taxes. We have many choice to make as to which credits to use, and Turbo Tax simplifies the cumbersome process of filing education expenses.
What's great about it: Walks me through all the possible credits and finds me the best choice to choose for education credits
What's not so great: None
