Federal great! Iowa state, lacking

The federal return was easy and intuitive. Any parts I didn't understand were explained with good links and solid information.
However, I felt that the Iowa State filing pretty well left me to fend for myself, searching online for various things that Turbo Tax completely failed to even try to explain, giving no links or descriptions whatsoever, yet asking me if I qualified for them.
I did feel that last year's state filing was much easier and explained more. Perhaps Intuit just ran out of time to prepare for all 50 states this year, and Iowa was the one that suffered.
I would highly recommend using Turbotax for federal filings, but recommend looking into other options for state filings.

Over all excellent piece of software, I recommend this all the time during tax season.
What's great about it: Easy step by step instructions
What's not so great: some of the explanations of deductions or credits are not very clear

Very good overall, but TurboTax still does not know how to correctly calculate NJ taxes if you work in Philadelphia and pay Phildelphia city taxes. Twice I have had to pay more money after the fact plus interest. This past year, after my second underpayment 2 years running, I finally received proper instructions straight from NJ Division of Taxation so I can file a clean tax return. For 2013 I had to make the adjustment as instructed because TurboTax made the same mistake yet again.
What's great about it: well designed
What's not so great: does not calculate NJ taxes correctlyif you work in Philadelphia

I have always used turbo tax. It is easy, clean, concise. My only worry is that I wonder if I am missing something. WHy do people pay for a tax person when they can do it themselves.

I appreciated all the explanations and helpful links, but there were some places that I wish there were more of them. I needed some help on some sections.
