Usually doing a return with Turbo Tax, I would have the program hang up or would have to call support to get the program and all my work back. This year, the import of my information from last year was very smooth and it made doing my taxes very easy compared to years past. Good job Turbo Tax.

Not what I expected Was very let down Had to wait a week to get 1040EZ form downloaded. Then it would not allow me to efile.

Great as usual, but with some reservations.

I've used TurboTax Deluxe for at least 10 years now, and have never regretted it. Although each year presents perhaps one or two little "gotchas" that keeps me on my toes to research and correct prior to filing my returns, overall it has been an easy, helpful and accurate process, and has saved me money year after year.
For example, this year the program insisted on creating a (CA) form 540X in addition to form 540, with little notations on my form 540 such as "AMENDED", although I had never indicated that this was to be an amended return (I used the interview method). I was finally able to remove the 540X by going into screens I had never entered previously, and drilling down to the underlying cause and deleting it. Not a show stopper - but slowed my progress somewhat in completing my returns. Probably would have warranted a support call were I not a "techie"and prior tax prep guy.
Overall, I highly recommend TurboTax Deluxe, but caution folks to always use the "sniff" test to ensure things feel correct along the way. (A good suggestion for most all software products).
What's great about it: Takes most of the work out of tax prep and filing. Much quicker than the DIY method.
What's not so great: Software has a mind of its own - see review below for details.
