Happy with my refund!

What's great about it: Easy to complete and use!
What's not so great: None!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Jayhawk Happy with Refund

The entire process was easy. We liked some of the fun comments, and loved the update as we went along on what we could have in terms of a refund etc.
What's great about it: the process was simple and the system guided us thru each step. it was great.
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Charitable Deductions

In the past, I remember a quick "manually add items" button where you could manually enter an item and its value when you couldn't easily find it on the list...a little more complicated to do so this year.
What's great about it: Always a good tax experience with Turbo Tax
What's not so great: "It's Deductable" - hard to manually enter items

Has Turbo Tax heard about the Paper Reduction Act?

I just printed 45 extra pages that I didn't need. My grandson had a w-2, unemployment, and one royalty. CA form had 10 pages plus 4 pages of Federal forms. That is not Turbo Taxes fault; however they could make selective printing more easy as I ended up printing all the worksheets twice.
What's great about it: mostly always easy
What's not so great: Difficulty Printing only what I need

Great Product

Excellent way to complete tax return and file. I used e-file. TurboTax made completing my return and filing it with IRS quite easy.
What's great about it: Very thorough. Easy to understand.
What's not so great: I had to find out how to update my CD manually. On-screen link did not work.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Not so good this year

Turbo tax worked as usual right up to the point of e-filing. Then it demanded that I "update" before filing, even though I had already updated. I updated 5 different times, but each time I tried to file, got the message that there was an important update that needed to be applied before I could file. Had to shut down computer, reboot turbo tax before it would work properly. Never had this kind of issue in the past.
What's great about it: Carryover data from last year
What's not so great: Very frustrating regarding "updates"

Towards the end, I was asked if I wanted my "fees" to be taken out of my Federal Refund. On that screen I had no idea what fees? (later to find out it was the fee for State) I also did not have a Federal Refund so I was confused as to what TurboTax was talking about.
Other than that, It was great.

What's great about it: Thorough and easy to use
What's not so great: TTAX asked if fees to be taken out of Fed Refund. Not clear as to what fees and I didn't have a Fed Refund anyway.
