Efficient

The software is really easy to follow. The systematic way you are stepped through makes it hard to miss opportunities to maximize your refund. The user should be reminded that some knowledge of the tax code is required. It is suggested that the new user or user who has changes does some of his own research in addition to reading the prompts and links included.
What's great about it: detailed and thorough
What's not so great: a bit elementary in the assumption of the filers' knowledge, hard to navigate back to a specific point in some cases

Comprehensive

Had to rely on older TurboTax submissions to remind me of entries I may have forgotten, but for the most part TT was right there on the mark! Pretty sure I saved that $500 left on the stadium seat, but if anyone finds that 1 billion left on the table, I'd be willing to negotiate for my share!
What's great about it: Walked and talked me thru everything.
What's not so great: Time-consuming, but anything worth doing is worth doing right!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Makes Tax Returns Simple

Before Turbo Tax, it would take a week of finding the correct boxes on the tax return for each item, as well as triple checking our addition. Now it is complete in one evening and e-filed immediately.

Poor handling of child's filing and signing req'ts

My 16-year-old had a job as a lifeguard, earned some income, and had normal withholding. TurboTax correctly asked if she could be claimed as a dependent on my return, and asked about any interest or dividend income (none), and then computed the refund of the entire withholding amount.
But... TurboTax is then silent on the instructions for filing the return. We chose to file by mail, and TurboTax did not caution us that a parent or guardian may sign the return for a minor child, or that if the minor child can sign their own return the parent or guardian should be listed as a Third Party Designee (cf. IRS Pub 929).

Program was glitchy this year

When the program would start and automatically check for updates, consistently there was a message that updates failed for whatever reason.
What's great about it: Everything worked.
What's not so great: Updates were off.

Refund Review

I've been using Turbo Tax for over 7 years now, and it is super easy to use even with some not-so easy situations. The explanations are a great help!
What's great about it: Very easy and "intuit"-ive
What's not so great: Some entreis need to be reviewed and those items don't stand out very clear
