I have used Turbo Tax for 13 years. I had one audit and I used my saved copy of Turbo Tax to show the IRS it was their error.
What's great about it: The carry over of data from year-to-year is a time saver and reminds me of items as a capital gains loss carryover
What's not so great: I wish TT would autosave. I had a power interruption and lost some of my work
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

TURBO TAX IS BEST

I have been using TTax since the 80's when it came out. It has gotten better and easier to use every year. Just answer the questions and input the numbers. Simply the best!

If you have a simple tax return with no out of state income or residency issues, I highly recommend TurboTax. However, we have multiple state incomes so the process was a little cumbersome and unclear at times. For the time spent figuring it out and the extra fees for downloading multiple state forms plus e-filing fees (yes I know those were optional), we didn't save any money compared to our usual tax preparer and lost several hours of personal time.
What's great about it: Easy to follow format (mostly)
What's not so great: Best for simple tax returns
