Wasted several hours

I put in estimates for medical expenses and it indicated that I would be able to deduct some of our medical expenses. However after several hours collecting details, it did not allow any medical deduction after all. Very frustrating.

Quick and Easy

Turbotax was easy to use and quick. I like the easy transfer of my last return. This made the process quicker
What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: Nothing too annoying
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Huge help for a small amount

Great product for those of us who like doing our own taxes, but don't know everything. Easy to use and thorough. Year to year carryover is a great idea. Suggest a link in various places directly to a specific form or instruction set on the IRS website for more in depth answers to complicated questions.
What's great about it: Ease of use, thorough

Almost great

As usual, the process - though time consuming - was relatively painless. Not necessary to read lengthy governmentese to figure out what was required. The only confusing part was reporting on a stock sale. It should have been very simple but a reference to specific box numbers (which weren't included in the 1099-B description) was confusing. Filling out the Schedule G would have been simpler.
Still, very happy with the process.
What's great about it: Covered everything necessary in a logical order.
What's not so great: Simple sale of stock shares was difficult to report

Wish I had a refund!

It would be nice if the updates would automatically be done rather than check as you are trying to send the e-file.
What's great about it: Step by step is helpful
What's not so great: Still does not catch dupiicaton errors ( I filed Schedule C and E when I should have only used E) Dumb on my part.

HAVE BEEN USING TURBO TAX FOR 8 YEARS AND NO PROBLEMS, EXCEPT THAT SOME THINGS GET BOGGED DOWN BY MISSING BOXES. MAKE THEM MORE VISIBLE. WHEN INFORMATION IS DOWNLOADED FROM PREVIOUS YEAR, ALSO INCLUDE FORMS THAT WERE USED SO THAT YOU RETURN TO THE UNIQUE FORMS. IT IS VERY ENLIGHTENING TO SEE HOW I COMPARE TO OTHER FILERS AND HOW LAST YEAR COMPARED TO THIS YEAR. i WILL KEEP USING THIS SOFTWARE UNTIL i ENCOUNTER A MAJOR PROBLEM, BECAUSE IT IS USER FRIENDLY, FOR THE MOST PART, IN THE CASE OF A TECHNOLOGICALLY-CHALLENGED NON-GEEK LIKE ME
What's great about it: GOOD EXPLANATIONS OF THE NEEDED INFO. GUIDES YOU WELL THROUGH EACH PHASE OF THE RETURN AND POSTS THE AMOUNTS AS YOU GO.
What's not so great: HELP SECTIONS ARE QUITE OFTEN INADEQUATE. INFORMATION BOXES LIGHT UP ONLY IF TOUCHED

I like using Turbo tax but every year for the past 4 years I have to pay to e-file my state taxes when your soft ware says that I get 1 free.
What's great about it: I like the fact that they walk you through it.
What's not so great: You say that it comes with a free e-file for state returns but it does not.
