I have been using TurboTax for quite a few years, and it was easy to use. Keep it simple and get work done, I like it.

Doing taxes is a as easy as 1,2,3 with Turbo Tax

Even an old lady like me who is not computer literate loves Turbo Tax. It is easy to use and now preparing Federal and State tax returns for the IRS or State is not the dreaded task it used to be.
What's great about it: Easy to use Includes free e-fling of federal return
What's not so great: the payment options for the state taxes. Easier to send in the mail than pay to e-file.

years past it worked great,the last 2 years not so much could'nt e-file because of updates,they,'were'nt any updates and no help on the forums either

Frustrating-To Say the Least

This is the weakest TTax I've used going back to the DOS days.
The Simple Form wasn't that simple. Skipped using home for a Day Care because it didn't apply bit me because info for line 7 is used for line 8. Or so the "Government Instructions" implied. I ended up going back and forth between the Simple and the Sched C and 8829 to be sure the data matched where appropriate.
Tax & Income Wks box b. 2. "Date Lived in State From": I've lived here from 8/5/1974. With that date entered TTax calculated sales tax paid over $12000. Knowing that was not true I went back and changed the date to 1/1/2013 and the proper tax allowance was revealed.
Issues like this make me very uncomfortable that my return is accurate. Time permitting I might go back to using a spread sheet based on the actual IRS forms. It worked for me before TTax was used.

Easy to use but loads very slow

I've used Turbo Tax for 7 years now. Answering the questions regarding income and deductions is pretty fast. I was able to complete the "interview" in less than half an hour. I used Turbo Tax for my daughter's return and my own. We didn't need to be tax experts to be able to feel confident that we have correctly completed our returns. However, it took longer to start the program and download/ & install the updates than it did to complete my tax return. That can be very frustrating if you';re in a hurry. You know there's a issue when a programmer has programed an apology for the fact that it's taking so long to load.
What's great about it: Answering the questions is very easy - the actual entry of the info is very quick
What's not so great: Staring the program and downloading updates takes a very long time.

Forgot sales tax

I liked the program but it had to update the sales tax form. I filed my return before I realized I missed a huge deduction. I will have to now file an amended return. part my fault and part yours.
