I really like turbo tax. It has proven very helpful in reducing the daunting task of doing my taxes. I plan to keep using them year after year.

May be my last year using TurboTax

After having used TurboTax for over 10 years on my Mac, installing the updates and e-filing for 2013 was very difficult and not worthy of paying for the software CD or state e-filing. After finding where to get the updates and successfully installing them on Feb 22nd, I still ran into e-filing errors telling me I still needed additional updates. When I checked via the TuboTax Check for Updates option, it informed me no updates were needed or available. After reading community info posts suggesting I close and reboot Mac and restart TurboTax (and doing that) it corrected the problem. Either there is something amiss in the product development goals or I am too used to clean operating Mac apps and not expecting a Windows like solutions to problems by rebooting the system.PC. I expect more from an App I purchase where how to resolve a glitch should be clearly pointed to rather than rely on the user to search community pages for answers. The answer I got on screen was that if this problem persist I should file by mail. This is unacceptable for a software purchased for preparing AND e-filing taxes. This may be the last time I rely on TurboTax to save me time and hassle in filing taxes as it is the second year in a row that getting updates has been a big headache.
What's great about it: Good preparing system
What's not so great: Difficult navigating & installing updates
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Fantastic, A Refund

Turbo Tax is a very good product. I feel confident using this program to file my income tax.
What's great about it: Easy to follow directions.
What's not so great: Some of the deductions allowed were confusing.

My go-to software and my daughter's a CPA.....I still use Turbo Tax ........shhhhhh
What's great about it: Very easy and understandable questions to answer
What's not so great: multiple states, military pensions still confusing in parts
