Extremely helpful and easy

I have relied on TurboTax for many years. It was extremely helpful when my tax returns were very complicated. Even now that they are less complicated, it is reassuring to know that the program will help me avoid problems by reminding me of things I have missed (like this year!) and providing useful information when I have questions. It is very easy to use. Plus, you can let it guide you through every step, or it allows you to go right to the things you know you need to do if you do not need the step-by-step guidance.
What's great about it: This is a very helpful program that makes filing returns easy and it is reassuring to have all the information handy.
What's not so great: No cons that I have found.

Straightforward, No Hassles!

This was my first experience with Turbo Tax, and I was not disappointed. The program was easy to use, and helped reduce the stress of filling out forms by breaking it all down into steps. I will definitely come back next year!
What's great about it: Easy experience, step-by-step was painless.
What's not so great: Didn't make my coffee this morning.

After installing the program and starting my return upon returning the program glitched saying "a configuration has been modified (prd.ini,startup) please reinstall". I had to uninstall the program after I had started my return and lost all data & had to start my return all over again. even though it said my return would be saved it wasn't, very frustrating when you have itemized your deductions.

okay but problems

I started to do an education deduction because we paid fees for school to start in 2014. Then decided to skip it because my wife didn't actually attend in 2013, and the questions didn't fit. However, I couldn't undo the student personal information sheet, the review kept coming back to it. I went to the education deduction and said no, but this worksheet kept screwing things up. So I answered the non-pertinent questions just to get past that section.
When I tried to E-file, it said TurboTax updates were needed, but I'd already installed all the updates. When I checked the Updates link, there were none to be uploaded. But I kept getting that message when I tried to E-file. So I am having to file by mail because the E-File did not work.

Turbo Tax's importing of previous year's taxes and some forms made this year's taxes a snap to do. Less than three hours from start to finish...and that includes using It'sDeductible to do the charitable contributions! The only thing that would make it even easier would be to import the charity's addresses automatically rather than to have and go figure them out, but hey...it still only took a few hours from start to finish to get my return done!
What's great about it: Quick and easy
What's not so great: Had to phish for some charity addresses

Thoughts on Turbo Tax

I wouldn't want to do my yearly tax filing without the aid of TT. It is simple but totally thorough. You guys have made going to a CPA for this kind of work a thing of the past. I love you and will continue to use your wonderful software for years to come.
What's great about it: Love how if you have been using TT for even one year prior that TT will go back and pull the important information from
What's not so great: I can't think of any.
