TurboTax is awesome

Been using TurboTax for years and never have had trouble. I made a mistake one year and had to do an amendment that was a snap. No issues!!

How Easy is This

TurboTax is a product with history, reliability and proven success. I trust my bank account with these folks for honest returns for both federal and state filing. I use it year after year. Vermont is a notoriously difficult state to file returns with convoluted forms and entries. Without fail, TurboTax gets it correct for my state filing.
What's great about it: Walked me through... Access to Forms for Corrections
What's not so great: None really -- great product -- have used for years

Excellent, as always...

I have been using this for years and almost always find it brilliant. There was one year when mom passed that it was somewhat confusing, but my audit risk was low, so I assumed all was good, and it was. I do have simple needs for tax returns (single, not a student, etc.), but I would assume that if you had the correct forms from your financial institution(s), it would still run smoothly.
What's great about it: I always feel like it's done the best for me.
What's not so great: None, really.

I like how easy it is to do. Just find all your paper work and enter it when asked. Turbo Tax will even file and save for you . Just count and spend your return.
What's great about it: ease of use and the explain this options
What's not so great: that i can`t use page up or page down buttons while entering info
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Requires Attention to detail

Have your W-2s and all other pertinent information readily available before you start. Anticipate all possible income and expense sources and have those records at hand and pre reviewed before you start. Double check your figures.

Less sure than before...

I have used Turbo Tax since it came on floppy discs; about 1997.
I haven't had any problems with it; it was always simple, clear, easy to use, self explanatory. An excellent, dependable product.
My concern this year... involves last year: I had to go back and re-do one of last year's returns. I entered all the same information, same data, everything the same. BUT, this time, the refund comes back much less. This unnerves me, I am afraid to ask or investigate further... which one is right, would money have to be paid back to the IRS. What happened in Turbo Tax since filing 2012 taxes that changed the outcome, in the form of the refund amount? Scary. I have checked and double checked, gone over the printed version and entered it. My only conclusion is that there was an update, after filing, or there is a glitch, something in TT changed the outcome for 2012 taxes from last year to this.... well... we shall see...
So, having bought it, I am using TT again. I have a little less faith in it being accurate now, but, giving it a go again.
(Another new return, 2013, came out with a significantly lower refund for this year as well.. unusually low?)
