Easy does it

Very easy overall to understand. Like the ability to always go back and check if I question my entries or forgot what I entered. Only area I had a problem with was at one point it said I "may" owe a 10% penalty on my monthly IRA distributions but I could never find why it said that. Reviewed my entries but nothing stood out I entered wrong. In the end does not appear a 10% penalty was applied as I could see. Paid a CPA for years and then decided to use Turbo Tax the 2012 tax year and am I glad I did.
What's great about it: Held my hand all the way
What's not so great: Nothing

overall i have used turbo tax for many years and will cont to do so.
What's great about it: it took me step by step allowed me to flag certain questionable topics
What's not so great: needed help right at that certain moment when i felt i was stuck not available

Minor error lowered my rating

I have used this product for years. I don't recall ever having this issue but here goes: When I was completed with my Federal form it asks to update the software. However, it will not let you update the software, unless you are the computer's administrator. This is common, but to compound this issue, for some reason the developer did not allow me to just simply log in as the administrator from the program. This meant I had to shut it down completely, switch users to the Admin, then update, then go back to the software. What a waste of time! Two easy fixes to this, when you install, have a screen that pops up that reads "update now" so that you do the update before entering info, OR simply allow users to grant Admin rights while still inside the user account. Maybe this sounds petty, but this unnecessary issue left me very frustrated.
What's great about it: Very easy, fill in the blank. Almost too simple at times
What's not so great: Updating the software is a pain

TurboTax could be improved by alerting users about the sales tax deduction and checking for its inclusion during the review process.
Also, the Five Year Tax History had figures for 2013 in the 2009 and 2011 columns.
What's great about it: easy data imports from past returns & It's Deductible
What's not so great: see Review

Extremely surprised!

I was doing the online free version, trying to be cheap. I realized I wouldn't be able to have a copy of my forms saved for future use (a need that comes up every year) so I opted to use my in-laws premium version. WOW. WOW!!! WOW!!!! SO GLAD I DID. I went from owing to getting a huge refund. Worth every second I sat at the computer!!
What's great about it: Ease of use

Turbo Tax is a great product. Using Turbo Tax is as easy as following a recipe to bake a cake. It is very straight forward, and educational. If you want an awesome tax preparation experience, use Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Quick and easy to use; no pressure to buy additional services; A very awesome experience

While waiting to download updates , I had the return right where I had been stopped for above. After updating ,it took me right back to beginning of filing. It took considerable time to find where I was. Place a warning to mark where you were before updating
