Turbo Tax is REALLY Turbo

I can't believe I didn't use turbo tax sooner. My computer "literacy" is limited, however, I was able to get through the WHOLE process easily. I'm trying to convince my parents, who are in their late 60's and early 70's, to give it a try.
What's great about it: Easy step by step process
What's not so great: additional charge for filing state refund

Selling Second Home

I have been using TurboTax software since it first came out on floppy disks. I wish at that time you had the option of creating a pdf backup as then I would have easy access to all my returns, as it it, I keep three years of the program on my computer. I also create a PDF file and save it.
For the price you now charge, I feel you should go back to the days when both the federal and the state were free to e-file.

What's great about it: Very Easy to use, E file a PLus
What's not so great: Difficult to find correct forms and place to enter this sale
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Dependable accuracy and easy to follow

I have used Turbo Tax for so long I forget when I first started using it. The software has matured to the point where it installs and runs reliably, has few if any glitches and is easy to follow and enter data. Nice that it loads everything from the previous year so you do not have to reenter it. I like the eFile option and direct deposit to my credit union account. I have no reason to consider using anything else at this point. I couldn't even think of a "cons" to enter but I couldn't leave it blank. ;-)
What's great about it: Ease of use, accurate, eFile, preloads data from previous year
What's not so great: It's not free

As complete as they come

I know it can't be 5 cents, the program was well worth the price I paid. It was easy to use, accurate, and asked all the right questions. I tried a competitors and they got it wrong. It would have cost me more if I did not use Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Easy interview style, includes the right questions and information
What's not so great: Should be 5 cents

Excellent Product

With Turbotax I am able to do our taxes in about 2 hours. The format stays the same over the years so it is easy to get paperwork organized and inputted. I love that I can stop and come back at any time. It is so much better than possibly forgetting something when you go to someone's office.
What's great about it: Fast and Easy, Anytime convenience

Warning, once you click "amend" a return, you either have to file as an amendment, snail mail, or start over. It will not let you "un-amend, not even by deleting the necessary amend forms.
What's great about it: aligns all information into the necessary forms
What's not so great: in-app ads, you cannot "un-amend" a return but have to start over

Awesome experience for novice!

Great software for doing taxes. It was easy to follow and I will continue using it year after year.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, very thorough
What's not so great: Some times it would ask a question and if you did not answer and wanted to go back, it would never get you back to that

extra state cost rediculous

I will really think about using another tax program next year!
What's great about it: once working was OK
What's not so great: Didn't recognize last years return. Spent two hours fixing! Extra state rediculous cost!!!
