WE LOVE TURBOTAX. WE HAVE USED IT SINCE THE LATE 1990'S. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. TURBOTAX BUSINESS IS ALSO EXCELLENT FOR OUR CORPORATION
What's great about it: EASY TO USE; LOTS OF EXPLANATIONS; CONSISTENT CATEGORIES THAT DON'T CHANGE MUCH YEAR TO YEAR
What's not so great: CAN'T SEE WHOLE SCREEN ON COMPUTER-HAVE TO SCROLL DOWN ALOT ON INCOME AND DEDUCTIONS SECTIONS

Sister's Tax Return is more complicated

As I said before, I love, love, love Turbo Tax. I do family returns as well as my own. Down to just one now. My sister's return is much more complicated than mine, but Turbo Tax makes it so much easier! One glitch when I tried to electronically file. TT created Sch F for Farm Income which didn't have any data in it but it wanted me to check one of the boxes regarding active participation. I kept deleting the form, and trying to file, but it kept coming back. Finally I opened the form I had supposedly deleted three times and overrode three "0" amounts with blank space. That worked! Finally was able to transmit. Thank you Turbo Tax. I love you.
What's great about it: Fast and easy to verify
What's not so great: Couldn't delete Farm Income (Sch F)

this is the 2nd year in a row that I have had to pay the state filing fee after it has asked me if I want to use the one free state filing. since I do mine first for my son, I always know no one else has used it first.
What's great about it: it was all good
What's not so great: it always charges me the state filing even after asking me do i want to use the 1 free state filing

Poor Transmission

TT having lots of validation failed efile failures. Bad glitch.
What's great about it: Return completed easily
What's not so great: efile transmission failed repeatedly until closed TT and restarted computer. Reopened return and efile worked.

This years edition had some areas where there were questions I had but I could not find help either in the program or online.
What's great about it: Quick
What's not so great: Some areas took too long to go through
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
