Very pleased with TurboTax

We have used turbotax for over a decade: there's no other way we'd do our taxes, frankly. Very pleased with the ease of use and we appreciate that by using this product we are getting up to the minute tax updates.
What's great about it: Easy step by step directions, many double checks in the process.
What's not so great: I don't particularly like being asked to buy other products (like Amazon gift cards)

It seems to get easier every year. Thanks. I like the idea of moving all personal info for this years returns to next year's automatically.

Being from Alaska I am a little unique. But, there are a lot of us up here! You folks should find a simplier way for us in Alaska to figure out where and how to plug in the dividend check we get from the state each year. Other than that, quite simple to use even for a computer dummy! Thank you
What's great about it: Quick refund, computer dummy friendly
What's not so great: Uploading updates took 30 minutes.

Also had a few places where the screen made no sense. On deductions finished step one only, and it then said I had completed 2 of 9 categories -- not right. Had to then choose to visit the medical area on my one. Also screens that made no sense like I could delay paying because my owed amount was less than $200 when it was actually nearly $2000 on federal and near $1000 on state. Again NOT right.
What's great about it: Step by step process as always
What's not so great: Really did not feel this year's version was as good as in the past. There are several places where it skipped steps.

I had new tax forms for retiring used Help Site 4 times. Had to go back twice for help with one item but found it. Site very fast no down time except if I could have kept that window open when finding the answer would have been better.
What's great about it: had new tax forms for retiring used Help Site 4 times
What's not so great: Had trouble finding one had to ask for Help 2 times on it.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Show how IRA contributions can lower tax bill
on February 19, 2014

Great product. I would have liked it to end with ""If you add XXX to an IRA, you would reduce your tax bill by YYY"" Sometime we have the choice to add some more to an ira but don't know an exact number to cancel out the 'amount owed'.
What's great about it: Easy step by step
What's not so great: didnt suggest how much to add to ira to offset tax bill
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
