Entering data from CSA1099R is difficult - CS retirement pensions are not IRAs (there is no RMD). Recommend pensions be clearly separated from IRAs.
Guidance after IRS rejection was lacking - I found the problem, but was unsure how to make the correction and proceed.
Long time waiting for the opportunity to enter state sales tax info - the "guidance" indicated updated info would be avail in Jan, but did not appear until mid Feb. I almost overlooked the entry screen and nearly filed the return without entering the deduction.

Never Use Another

I've been using TurboTax for over 15 years and just LOVE IT! I mistaken used another in the early years (year 2) and hated it.
If you can read, you can do your taxes using TurboTax yourself. From single to head of household with, dependents, mortgage, a home office or business, student loans, investment income, retirement cashout... you got it, you can handle it with TurboTax.
Use it to do yours, and make a little extra on the side by doing your friends', they will think you are genius :-)
Can't say enough about it. EVERY year they improve on it. This year I am hard pressed to find a con. Highly recommend it.
What's great about it: Easy to use. If you can read, you can use it.
What's not so great: Can't think of any.

I had difficulty efiling my return both state and federal. stated needed an update. No update available. waited several days and then efiled without difficuly When the program ran error review the on screen menu description was not helpful. I was happier with my experience last year. I will give turbo tax one more year. Then I may change my filing source. The above issues gave a fair review versus good or excellent.

Almost Perfect

For estimated state tax payments I would like to see Turbo Tax populate the 2nd through 4th quarters with the state entered in the 1st quarter. (still give you the ability to change each quarter). Will selecting New Mexico from the pulld won menu I accidentally selected New Jersey for one quarter. Did not notice the error until my state taxes due seemed too high.
What's great about it: guides unskilled tax preparers to almost every possible deduction
What's not so great: can pick the wrong item from pull down menus

Good product.
What's great about it: Saved money by doing it myself. Fairly easy step-by-step prompts.
What's not so great: Can't think of any.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
