Its Good

I am considering not purchasing the TurboTax CD next year. For two years in a row, it has taking me over 3 1/2 hours to install the TurboTax CD. Its too stressful to go through all of that again. And yes, my Desktop computer CAN support the CD.
What's great about it: I like the steps it takes you through & how you can click on detail lines to figure out the questions more.
What's not so great: I DO NOT like that it takes me 3 1/2 hours to install TurboTax. This happened to me last year for my 2012 Filing.

Turbotax slipping in credability

It was not until the taxes were filed that they showed that the IRS was not processing returns until Jan. 31, 2014.
Son who had tax prepparer file his return on 1/18/2014 was completed prior to TurboTax Electronic Filing on 1/13/2014.
What's great about it: Quick Filing of Taxes
What's not so great: Delay in IRS Processing Dates, Not as quick to be serviced by IRS

Turbo Tax Is Awsome

I used Turbo Tax Deluxe for Federal and State and it only took me 30 minutes start to finish and bam, I'm done with my return for the year. Great product.
What's great about it: Easy to use and fast.
What's not so great: Nothing bad to say.

Nice & Easy with 1 exception

On the section under state tax, when I was asked to give the combined local and state tax %age, there was no help provided on how to calculate that or where to look for that information in order to enter it. I had to google that information and then research on my own to enter that. Would have been good to have a help and information link in that section also like all others.
What's great about it: Easy, Clear, Quick, Safe, Integrated
What's not so great: Insufficient Detail

Thorough Program

My only complaint is that Turbo Tax kept going back to a summary of income, deductions, etc., EVERY time I made an entry. Either an optional button or showing it at the end of each section would be better. Otherwise, everything went well.
What's great about it: Thorough and consistent year-to-year
What's not so great: My only issue is an annoyance when completing the taxes
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I just take a quiet moment to answer the questions and fill in any amounts needed and shortly I have our taxes done - sitting at the kitchen table!
What's great about it: Very user friendly
What's not so great: none

Predictable Excellence

I've used Turbotax since running Windows 3.1 and while the innovations aren't used so much by me as my return has become less complex, it has always worked flawlessly. And that's what I tell my Personal Finance students at the college where I teach. I'm not a walking TT commercial; I just share the truth about a wonderful and helpful product form them.
What's great about it: It just works!
What's not so great: Must hunt for It's Deductible
