I have been using Turbo Tax since it came out 20 years ago. I tried a CPA one year, when I got divorced and anticipated it would be too difficult to do on my own. I spent $282 to have her walk me through all of the same stuff that Turbo Tax does, I still had to provide ALL of the documentation and information, and she didn't come up with any ways to save me any money. Waste of money - I will never pay anyone to do what I can do by myself, in the comfort of my own home, where all of my paperwork is located.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax covers all the categories
What's not so great: It takes time to input everything, but not longer than meeting with a CPA

Made Life Easier

This version (2013) was easier to use and understand. It made going through with filling out the forms very easy. I like that it readily retrieved my information from last year and actually compared entries to allow me to verify if they would be valid for 2013. The tool used to calculate my clothing donations is awesome. I know what I donated but, I am not good at estimating a fair market value of that item. I like the "Where is my Refund" App. I downloaded it and used it last year. Looking forward to using it again.
What's great about it: Questions were very easy to understand and it was much easier to use than last years
What's not so great: Sales Tax Update was not automatic

Also past years had direct links to 1040 detailed instructions instead of your turbo tax community making it easier to find detailed answers.

The first year took quite a bit of time but every year it gets easier and easier. Simple button clicks and check boxes to fill out. Very easy to use. I love the learn more links that explain everything in detail.
What's great about it: It loaded everything from last year. It took less than an hour! :)

This year's return was so much faster to prepare, not a lot of updates, seemed to have everything available. I have been using TurboTax for 6 years now and this is the best and fastest program yet
What's great about it: started my Return and finished in 1 hour, easy to follow steps
What's not so great: only thing wrong is having to manually enter info if you do not have a pin #
