Gets easier every year

Everything went smooth till e-file time and it would not validate even with several update attempts. Closed program and reopened and it validated and e-filed after that.

I have been using this software package for several years now and it has always been effective in the way that it handles my tax situation. I am not always pleased with outcome but that is driven more by Uncle Sam than TurboTax! If you have all of your documentation together before you sit down to work through the process, you will find it takes a minimal investment in time. I still feel the price point could be reduced for the software or the addition of free state filing considering the number of free online options that are available.
What's great about it: Clean interface. Simple, intuitive Q&A session for input.
What's not so great: Price point.

Standard or Itemized deduction

I've have used Turbo Tax for many years and have had a rather complex return which through the years has become simpler. Since the house is paid off and other itemized items are reduced, I now have to question if I need to go through the exercise of itemizing all the donations, and other expenses only to find out I am better off with the standard deduction. I would appreciate an upfront statement that your standardized deduction will be:_____. Then I can more easily estimate if I want to bother with all the details for a form I am not even going to file.
What's great about it: comfortable with the program
What's not so great: the ease of figuring out if I am going to itemize

i wonder why, as in past years my previous return was not transferred. i had to go through my files and find my return.
Also-my state tax part was charged to me even though it indicated I was to get one free state. Very odd.

Continues to be very easy to use an dependable.
Walking though the process is a big help.
Having "explain help" is a big help.
Would have been 5 stars again if didn't have a problem working with my new Trend-Deep Security antivirus software.

A Few Turbo Tax Issues

Although I find it easy to use TurboTax, I have one serious complaint and one minor complaint. SERIOUS: As I entered the estimated state income tax amounts on the federal form, Turbo Tax didn't tell me my state tax refund from the previous year had already been entered. It took an hour of reviewing forms to realize the refund had been entered twice. If Turbo Tax automatically scanned my previous year's return and entered the refund, it should tell me so. MINOR: It is sometimes confusing to try to match Turbo Tax's steps with where it goes on the federal return.

What's great about it: Very easy. I love how he program asks you questions and gives you details to the questions
What's not so great: nothing really

This is the first time I have used this product it is very easy with good explanations of each block to be completed.
What's great about it: easy to complete,detailed instructions
