I'm so 'Into It'

Great flow to this software;
I started using TurboTax for my 2012 return. Prior to that, I used to have anxiety about having collected all the forms that I might need, and this includes the big one (Pub. 17). So, having used TT last year, my 2013 return, this year, allowed me the convenience to forego the concerns about having all of my forms in a row, throwing chance to the wind by relying on TT's expertise and, in doing so, I eliminated a lot of preparatory stress.

What's great about it: All bases covered; ease of use; tremendously time-effective
What's not so great: It would be a good idea to expand the descriptions a little bit more before asking us if certain forms apply to us.

The updating of software function took too long. What I mean is my machine hung several times during my request for updating. Most importantly, the charge for electronically sending state tax is too much.
What's great about it: It was quick and easy

Good Job

Does great job for me; in some cases where you get questions on areas of the return, maybe improving the explanations will help. In particular I did not understand how the RMD was required on a Pension and was further confused when your instructions indicated that a NO was not the usual response. Your tax advisor cleared this up by telling me that the RMD is not required on a Pension and only applies to IRAs and the like. The question could have been avoided if a statement had been included that said the RMD does not apply to Pensions. Thanks

What's not so great: Needs better explanation on RMD as they relate to Pensions, According to your Tax Advisor, they don't.

Taxes Done, and Little Stress!

I've used TurboTax for a number of years now, and it is so easy that I can't imagine paying someone else to do my taxes for me. Plus the education that TurboTax provides each step of the way helps me to analyze situations that come up during the year so that I can make informed decisions in those areas where my Federal taxes will be impacted.
What's great about it: Really liked the the step by step process

I have used Turbo Tax for many years with good result. I tried a competitor one year, was confused and frustrated so I returned to Turbo Tax the following year. I appreciate the step by step approach that allows me to see not only where we have been but where we are headed. Calculations are quick and accurate.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax continues to be straight forward and easy.
What's not so great: I continue to wish that the questionaire would take into account the Pension/Housing status of reitired clergy.

Taxes made EZ!

TurboTax makes filing Federal and State taxes so easy regardless of individual complexities. I have used this product for many many years and tell people every year to start using it if they haven't already.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, easy to file!
What's not so great: Lack of tax credits for paying 2 college tuitions!!!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
