Turbo Tax great as always!

I have used Turbo Tax since its inception, or just about, and I rely on it year after year to provide its consistent, easy, accurate and complete service. The only thing I have to have is my W-2, interest and dividend info, and mortgage interest statement. They have the rest or pull it in. They check all possible income and deductions for you, help you list all your charitable deductions and double check the return for accuracy and for audit red-flags. Thank you Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: I really don't have to even think to do my taxes thanks to Turbo Tax!
What's not so great: TT did not seem to recognize that DC does not require any out-of-state residents to file income tax returns in DC.

I have been using TurboTax for many years with no problems.
What's great about it: Fast and accurate !
What's not so great: No way to include an explainatory note to the IRS.

Step by Step

TurboTax is great at walking you through step by step. One thing the program should say or do at the beginning is that it should check for updates. Schedule A wasn't part of the software, it was an update, even though it said it wasn't available until IRS released it. Also, it is annoying to see additional fees at the point of filing. I bought the deluxe edition which includes one state filing, but not e-file. Overall it is a great program, just a couple nuisances.
What's great about it: Makes things easy to understand
What's not so great: Additional fees at end

Blows away using CPA

I had used Turbo Tax for years, then my returns were getting more complicated. I had hired a CPA for those 2 years. They missed several deductions as well as just not getting what was spelled out to them very clearly. I fired my CPA and am so happy I did. I love this program,

Easier than Sorcery

I have used Turbo-Tax exclusively for 7 Yrs plus. I knew there was a better way to do taxes myself without having to study the Federal Tax code language that accompanied the paper 1040 forms. I have been completely satisfied with my experience in preparation and filing of both Federal and State forms, I would say that it's 'Turbo-rific".
What's great about it: Easy to use- prompts help guide you
What's not so great: Can be a little generic on certain items
