Heats Quickly-Overall Would Recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to test out the Remington Pro 1 inch Flat Iron with Peal Ceramic Technology and I was pleasantly surprised. I have tried a lot of flat irons in my day for the inexpensive, to expensive and over priced. Luckily this flat iron worked great! I have curly hair and have 3A and 3B curl pattern. I first used this straight iron right out of bed and wanted to try it with no product since it says the ceramic plates help with less damage and frizz which it did!
The instructions were simple and easy to read. What I liked was that it had a quick guide for what temperature you can set the iron to based off of hair type. I originally started with the 400' setting (for Thick or hard to style) and lowered it to 380' (Textured) after doing a few portions of hair. It does heat up within 15 seconds which is nice but also use caution because the temperature is so high. I would suggest setting it on a counter away from animals or children coming in the room. Also I would just wave a finger near the plate to feel for warmth and not directly on like I have done with other straighteners to feel for temperature. It makes a small beeping sound when it is ready to use. One con is I wish the sound was louder and longer. Sometimes I do my hair with music on and the beep wouldn't be audible. It's nice that you can lock the temperature in when holding down the button. I kept mine unlocked so I could adjust while straightening.

Straightening was easy especially with the one inch. I was able to get close to my scalp which was nice to work out the curls near the nape of my neck. I do wish that the back of the iron was a little thicker. I caught myself moving my hand up the straightner and the ceramic plates can get hot so you can feel the warmth when using at a high temprature. The handle felt good in hand and the swiveling cord was helpful. Speaking of cord, it is about 5 feet long which I liked. I hate using a straightner with a short cord making it difficult to reach areas.
Overall straightening was easy. There are a few things I would change but don't let that sway you from how fast and easy this is to use. I like that you can see the temprature which makes it nice to know for the future use vs. low, medium and high settings or the touch the warmth of the plates and go method! What I would change is the time it takes to automatically shut itself off. If you forget it will turn off in 60 minutes automatically. I would like to see 5 to 15 minutes so I'm not burning my house down! I would also like a stronger "lock" function. There is a small button on the back of the straightner that has a lock icon on it. It is to keep the plates together and locked for when you store it away. Make sure you really push it in. When I first tried it, I had to give heavy push. The "lock" funtion is nice so you don't get dust and random other things on the plates but there is still some room inbetween the plates where you may be better off wrapping a binder around it when cooled off.

Amazing straighter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got this hair straightening and it works so fast and effectively. My hair comes out soft it doesnt kill it or over heat it. I love the fact it's so slim and small compared to some of my other straighteners I've used. I find this straightener works fast and cuts my steiaghting time down

Works Great "When" it works

I purchased this product and it works as good as a Chi, but after about a week it stopped working and I returned it and now the new one stopped turning on...so I have writted to Customer Service to Remington to see if they will stand behind their product and I will be back to let you know what the outcome is :)

NOT Worldwide voltage!!!

Just bought this flat iron today because the package said worldwide voltage, which to me should translate to "dual voltage". Got home, opened the package and saw that the iron is only rated for 120V. Read under the FAQ's on this site that it is in fact not dual voltage and that Remington is working on updating the packaging to reflect the fact that they do not make dual voltage units anymore. Returned the flat iron to the store right away and got one from a different company that was actually dual voltage.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I never write reviews of products I buy, but this was flat iron is amazing, doesn't burn my hair,is and leaves it very shiny and smooth. I recommend this product, I even got another one for my sister and she loves.

Not for Worldwide Voltage

Just bought this to use overseas and I'm stuck with no curling iron because unlike the packaging said it does not have dual voltage. Should have looked at the reviews first.

i attempted using it this morning and the curler would not curl my hair, i had it set on 415 degrees and it still wouldnt work!!! i do NOT reccomend buying this product
