These gloves are very loose with no stretch whatsoever, so when in downward dog they slip and dig painfully between my fingers. Perhaps they would work for someone with REALLY large hands? I would send back but since they were so cheap it's not worth the shipping. Waste of money.

I purchased these gloves along with the matching socks and they are great for those poses that your hands begin to slide. They don't. The majority of the time they are wonderful and I love them. Only a couple of times the part in-between the fingers started to dig into by hands, but, if it does occur, I remove them. They are great with poses like the plank pose and upward plank pose, when if I am not wearing them, sometimes I find my hand slipping but, with downward dog, I can't wear them. Still better to have that not to have:-)

Grips the mat...but not your hands!

I have mixed feelings about these gloves. On the one hand, the grip "tread" on the gloves does grip the mat (or floor) pretty well. However, the gloves themselves are very stretchy and flimsy with no wrist strap, so there's nothing on them to keep your hands from slipping INSIDE the gloves! They worked alright for some less challenging positions, but as soon as I got into one that required a lot of pressure on my hands/wrists (even one as common as downward dog!) my hands were sliding forward all over again. So disappointing.

Just what I needed

These gloves definitely solved the problems I was having! I kept slipping forward while in Downward Dog and other inverted positions where the hands are used for support, taking my focus off the practice. These gloves are so comfy, I want to wear them everywhere. My only complaint is that, while the gloves don't slide on my mat, my hands do slide inside the glove because they are stretchy and not fitted. But this also allows for a good range of movement, so I can't complain too much. Overall they were exactly what I was looking for.
The best thing for those of us whose hands perspire. I can now hold a position without my hands sliding all over the place.

The gloves perform as advertised, however, my hands slide inside the gloves because of the knit material. I would have preferred a material with less give. The gloves are light and comfortable.
