This looks and act's like a good Blu-Ray , but the software/firm ware just does not work. Once set up and tiring to get to my Netflix account was a chore. no Netflix code you use your e-mail address. Netflix didn't like that the first 3 or 4 times. then it seemed to work, sometimes. It still is like this after a firmware up date and when tiring to get a program to run in Netflix it just says 'we cant find that product at this time try later'
After seeing that screen countless times it may connect or it may not. its a guessing game. and for the people that will read this and say' well mine works fine' good for you you got lucky i guess and got a good one.
From me it's about worthless and that makes me sad because i used to like sharp's products but now I'll have to pass on them for someone else. Its too bad too because this unit has all the bells and whistles i want in a BR player, just bad firmware.

Bad wifi connection, slow start-up

Unfortunately, Sharp made a product that's disappointing to say the least. First off, the start-up time is slow compared to products of other brands and very very slow to search anything on Youtube and Netflix barely works, even after updating the software. As a Blu-ray player, it is just ok, not good or great, it will do the job but like it takes twice or thrice as long to load a movie. Was excited when I bought this on sale but even if they slash 50% off of the MSRP, it still not worth it. If Sharp wants to stay in business with producing blu-ray products, it needs to step up its game big time. This would have been good product if it came out 4 years ago when 2nd gen blu-ray players came out.

Movies yes, more, eh

If you wanna watch a good movie and have it be nice and clear, this little gem does just fine. But hopefully you own a secondary device for streaming, my router is super close and SOMETIMES the internet on here can be fine but it's definitely not consistent. That said it deserves more than a single star... lol
