Amazing Monitor

Purchased this monitor about 1 month ago and couldn't have been happier with it. Sure, it's a bit more expensive than other 23's, but the extra cost is worth it. Every color is richer, blacks are blacker and the whites are bright and amazing. If you're looking for a 23" monitor, look no further than this one.

Good Monitor

I have two of these and they are great monitors. I was able to easily color calibrate them with a Spyder2 with very little adjustment needed out of the box. They are much brighter and crisper than my older LG 22" Flatrons and have better viewing angles that are more consistent.
There is an above average amount of light bleeding in the lower left on a true black screen. Though the light bleed will seem to move and lessen bases on viewing angle. This leads me to think the light bleed just looks worse at some angles because the combination of the newer IPS and LED technology. On my older non-LED TN monitors the light bleed does not seem to move or lessen based on viewing angle. I would recommend these monitors. My only real complaint is the flimsy feel of the stands, which is the only reason I can’t give them 5 starts for quality. The only reason they are not getting 5 starts for features is because other than IPS and LED technology all the features are the norm for monitors these days and they are a little difficult to mount to a versa plate. Mounting and stands seems to an after thought for LG monitors.
Finally monitors are a personal preference. My wife and I both looked at these monitors separately in a show room floor and they stood out from all the other monitors for what we saw as color accuracy. Color accuracy is more important for our needs than the light bleed issue on true black screens. We can’t stand some of the monitors and TVs from other vendors that insist on pushing the reds to unnatural levels and sometimes is almost imposable to fix even with a color calibration tool. The only other thing we noticed was that the deep blacks did not reveal as much depth and detail as a couple of other brands, but these still had better color accuracy.
There is no perfect monitor, but if you are after color accuracy these are worth looking at.

Excellent monitor

I am enjoying this monitor to the fullest. This is absolutely the best monitor I have ever used. My eyes do not get as tired with this monitor as my other, non-IPS display. I use this monitor for both pc work, and for my Xbox. I also love how when I get a dual monitor stand, I can mount the monitor to it with the supplied mounting studs that match the curved back.
The only reason I knocked off one star on ease of use is because switching between monitor inputs is kind of cumbersome and I have found no way of using auto-detect.
This PRODUCT IS GREAT! I HAVE THOROUGHLY enjoyed using the clean crisp imaging of the set. I would recommend it highly. LG truly means looking good!

I LOVE My Monitor!

I work with photographs a lot, and my previous monitor didn't give me nearly the brightness and sharpness necessary for me to edit them properly. The IPS236 is just wonderful: I can see all the flaws in my photos and either fix or discard them with ease, plus it's beautifully bright for word processing and gaming as well! I LOVE IT!

OCD About LG IPS236V-PN Monitor!
on October 5, 2011

My son has ODC issues about electronics. So when we purchased this one for him to use in his room we waited for his response. Amazingly, only good things to say!!! It had an easy set up and he told me how the analog and digital drivers were different on the unit - there goes that OCD again! LOL Anyway, he loves the picture quality with the 1080 full HD (and he is quite picky about picture quality!) Gotta thank you for making a top quality affordable monitor!! Love it!

Using this monitor for web surfing and photo editing is a pleasure. I wanted an IPS monitor based on reviews i saw on this type of monitor and this did not disappoint. I know that LG makes good products so this was a no brainer.

IPS VERY CLEAR

After shopping and reading and shopping and researching for weeks, I finally found a model that has superb picture quality that is way above all the rest. The LED combined with the IPS is a powerful duo. The only thing missing is a tv tuner and a more versatile stand that would allow for greater adjustment capabilities. That would make this beauty an even more stunning value and multi-tasker.
